Condo in Kihei

Enjoy the massive view-ocean and 2 Islands-billowy clouds and WHALES in season from your large, 150 square ft PRIVATE lanai and 900 square ft condo. A 4 minute walk to Kamaole 1, (Kam 1) a world class beach offering snorkeling, SUP, and boogie boarding, with gear rentals steps away. 3-15 mins walk to all S Kihei’s restaurants, food trucks, shops and bars, it's beach town life just down the driveway. Heated swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, and 2 BBQ areas! No more than 4 adults and 2 kids. The space Just finished a brand new kitchen remodel and new flooring throughout. The fourth floor of a four story building, you have no upstairs neighbors; it’s really quiet and EXTREMELY private! With an open lot below the lanai, you won’t see or be seen by neighbors. There's a loft with a bedroom that also has the magnificent ocean and islands view, wonderful when you awake. There are two sets of 6 stairs between this condo and the elevator that you will encounter. Folks who use walkers, strollers, crutches and anyone with difficulties walking may wish to stay elsewhere. There are two bedrooms and 900 square feet of living space, NOT including the 150 sq ft HUGE lanai - the largest lanais in South Kihei. The view of the Pacific can't be fully captured by a camera but, as shown by the photos from the lanai, is magnificent. You see the view immediately upon entering the condo, and it is spectacular. You will find yourself staring at the ocean and feeling soothed and relaxed. A garden view, a driveway, parking area or another building won't bring you the same tranquility as watching the sun glisten off the tops of waves of the ocean from the living room, kitchen, loft bedroom and lanai. When whales are in season, you can see them leaping out of the water, spouting, tail and fin slapping, and it becomes hypnotizing. Dolphin Plaza is even closer than the beach, and is about 2-3 minutes walk from the condo door. Boss Frogs rents any gear you may want - snorkel, SUP, boogie boards, and you can walk with them right across the street to Kamaole (Kam)1 and swim with turtles and fish, or paddle smoothly over the water and watch turtles pop up to breathe. All the Kamaole Beaches are terrific but there is a specific reason why Kam 1 is superior: other beaches have hidden, toe-busting lava rocks in the water but not Kam 1. The southernmost part of the beach to your left as you arrive have lava rocks clearly visible. Not so at the other beaches, and nothing will ruin your day or stay as quickly as kicking a hidden, jagged rock! You may break a toe or get a stubborn infection. You'll pass a spa, restaurants, cafes, bakery, gelato, pizza and more on your walk to the beach. Just a few hundred feet further south on Kihei Rd, there's Hawaiian Moons, a natural grocery store with organic groceries. Just a little further south are MORE shops and restaurants, including Coconuts Cafe, considered to have THE BEST fish tacos on Island. Everything you need to enjoy Maui is right here, including a gigantic palm tree right in front of your lanai. South Kihei is an easily walkable commercial area, yet this condo is typically exceptionally quiet. It is paradise. Bananas grow within the complex and you can see them by looking down from the walkways. They put them at the manager's office when cut down. We have lovebirds build nests above our lanai, morning doves visiting you on the lanai, and geckos stroll the railing of the lanai. You will enjoy the entire Maui experience right here. (Geckos don't bite and avoid interacting with humans, but they DO EAT BUGS, so let them be.) Kamaole 1 is a world renowned beach, known as the first, northern-most beach of the longest stretch of spectacular beaches in the State of Hawaii. Not all beaches are alike-North Kihei has Sugar Beach-the longest beach on Maui, great for walking, wind surfing, kite surfing, but not so good for swimming or snorkeling. SOUTH Kihei has everything you want close by, not so for North Kihei - you will have to drive to everything, and pay for parking at the most desirable beaches. Walk from here quickly and hassle free. At Kam 1, you can interact with turtles, sometimes in shin-high water. It is usually calm enough to snorkel (best near the rocks extending deeper in the ocean at the southern most part of the beach) and see multitudes of fish, colorful reefs, turtles, and if you are an accomplished swimmer, go along where the lava rock extends furthest into the ocean at the south side of Kam 1, you can see eels and octopi. You can boogie board, but if waves are big, don't go. You'll get creamed! The beach has sun and sand of course, but also grass, trees and shade, picnic tables, showers, and a bathroom near the lifeguard stand. We think Kam 1 is the best beach of them all because, unlike others, THERE ARE NO HIDDEN ROCKS to step on or into! Do not minimize the importance of hidden rocks. At minimum, they hurt like crazy, if you get a cut, it can take a while to heal, or you can break a toe. Aside from the obvious rocks where the lava rocks are on the south side, there are no hidden rocks in the water here. Having smashed my toe, I emphasize it! Ali'i Kai has one of the BEST and largest pools in South Kihei, and it is solar heated to around 80 degrees. We also offer a rarity: a large hot tub. Even more rare, indoor showers and sauna, along with two BBQ areas with 4 gas grills, and a BRAND NEW PICKLEBALL COURT! The hot tub and pool may get closed at times due to events out of our control. We also provide four entry-level paddles and some balls for pickleball. There is plenty of easy, free parking. Use the upper-most lot and take the elevator to the 4th floor. Don’t use the covered parking area; that’s for owners only. We strive to keep the place spotless. The overhead fans, including the living room, the Mitsubishi AC, and the sun blocking, smooth rolling sun shades keep this cool and comfortable. Also, there's a 7500 watt Air Conditioner in the downstairs bedroom to cool it down. Make sure where ever you select has full AC coverage. Most places don't, and you WILL want it, particularly in summer. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and one bathroom. HOWEVER, we can accommodate up to 4 adults and two children with an additional futon in the loft. We have a brand new 58 inch TV with access to all your apps, and you can watch tv from the lanai as well as the three person, two fully reclining seats leather couch with usb charging ports. If you sleep in the upstairs loft, you will awake to the sight of the various colors of the Pacific Ocean, tour boats going to or at Molokini, boats, kayaks and SUP’s. We supply beach chairs, towels, and a cooler. We do not supply snorkel gear. If you find any in the condo, they were left behind by a guest and you should clean them yourself before using, but renting them is inexpensive and you will pass by Boss Frog’s every time you leave or return to the condo. You won't need to rent a car except to explore other areas. No need to drink and drive - just walk home. In the tropics, there are many different bugs. The entire condo complex is professionally treated four times per year, including the interior living area. Nonetheless, bugs get in on occasion. Cockroaches are hitchhikers and carried into a condo, typically in boxes from Costco. If you see any, let us know immediately. Your trip to Maui will be fantastic, but make it memorable by having the MAGNIFICENT OCEAN VIEW, and be comfortable with FULL AC! Any bookings for remaining dates in 2024 will get a .75% refund on the nightly rate and cleaning fee. Guest access You have the entire condo to yourself. You can use the last four digits of your cell phone if you provide that to us, or we can assign a code-no need to hide keys or worry about losing them. There’s free parking, an elevator to the fourth floor, walk down two sets of six steps and you’ve arrived. Short walks to everything Maui visitors want, no need for a rental car except for excursions like Road to Hana or trip to Kaanapali or Mt Haleakala. Literally 3-4 minute walk to Dolphin Plaza with 6 restaurants, fantastic bakery, delicious, luscious gelato, and island style gift shop with better quality than kitschy kiosks. Maui plans to initiate $10 paid beach parking and time restrictions on visitor’s cars in 2026; avoid that hassle and walk to one of the best beaches on Maui in minutes. Other things to note The shower head is labeled opposite of how it functions. Hot water is on the right, cold on the left! If you use ice, we have a few trays in the freezer, but there’s an ice dispensing machine across from SAFEWAY, which you will pass on your way from the airport to the condo. It’s also available from the ABC store 5 minutes walk away. Grab a bag for the freezer. No smoking in the condo or lanai. No parties. Our condo is HOTEL ZONED. It will be available for your visit now and in the future and is not subject to any pending legislation. Four adults maximum plus two kids, additional people are $50 per night more. Two car maximum per condo. Any violations of house and association rules resulting in a monetary fine are the responsibility of the guest. We have water sensors placed near potential sources of water leaks. If those sensors are activated, you will hear an alarm and our on island managers will first attempt to contact you via the phone number listed on your account via text message and phone calls. Since a leak or flood is an emergency situation which must be dealt with immediately, if you don’t respond for whatever reason, our on island managers will enter the unit after first knocking on the door to address the emergency alarm. Please do not place bags of ice in any sink. Condensation will occur, causing the water sensor to activate the alarm, causing a big inconvenience to everyone. Use the cooler or the freezer for your ice. Maui is a tropical island and bugs exist. We get preventative bug sprays quarterly which take less than ten minutes with a non-toxic to humans pesticide. If you refuse entry to the exterminators, you will be charged for them having to return. Also, despite these treatments, bugs still manage to get in, usually from the lanai slider. German cockroaches love cardboard and may enter the condo in boxes brought from Costco. If you use cardboard boxes from costco, immediately discard them if you do notice bugs, let our on island agents know immediately and we will arrange a treatment.
