The space This is a beautiful, upper-floor duplex penthouse in central Honolulu. Set in a high-end residential building in the Punahou neighborhood, the property is very light, and looks out over the city and the mountains in the distance. The ocean is also visible in the distance behind the city skyline. The two-story living room provides dramatic views and lots of light. The property takes the entire width of the building and has lanai balconies on each side, with views to the east and west. There are hardwood floors throughout, and marble surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms. Chandeliers and mirrors are custom made in Murano in Italy, and other pieces of décor were custom made in China and Southeast Asia. Separate HVAC systems upstairs and downstairs. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom is on the upper floor and features a king size bed (two twin mattresses pushed together for individual comfort) and a large bathroom with two sinks, bathtub, and shower. The second bedroom is also on the upper floor and features a double bed (two single mattresses pushed together for individual comfort) and ensuite bathroom with shower over tub. The third bedroom is on the lower floor and has two single beds with an ensuite bathroom and shower. There is a powder room off the living room, and a laundry room upstairs with washer and dryer. The kitchen features an additional eating area, with Sub-Zero fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven and range. Guest access Access to the building is directly from the secure ground-floor indoor parking area to a private elevator lobby in the penthouse. There is also a porte cochière and pedestrian entrance from the street, monitored by the doorman. Every exterior door and all of the elevators have key tag access control, and the entire property has CCTV surveillance. Guests will have access to the entire penthouse, with the exception of a few storage rooms where some of our personal things will be stored. Because this is a family property, we share closets with guests. Guests will have use of one indoor parking space and one outdoor parking space, the pool, hot tub, gym, and outdoor barbecue entertaining area (advance reservations required with the front desk). There is elevator access on both levels of the property, which is helpful for persons with mobility challenges. Step-free access to the street is possible via the lobby and the porte cochière. Other things to note This is a quiet, family-oriented building which is also home to a number of retired people. Loud music or parties would not be appropriate at any time of the day or night. You will be required to leave immediately if there are any complaints from neighbors or the caretaking staff.
