Lost Antler Cabin in Paradise
The Lost Antler cabin is a place to take a deep breath and rejuvenate the senses. A space that allows your mind to drink up the deep history of the surrounding area, from wild gold mining towns to when the buffalo roamed free on the land. 2 NIGHT MIN during busy season & weekends. During WINTER: must have AWD or FWD, experience driving in serious winter weather (snow, severe wind, extreme cold); the cabin is located on gravel roads & dirt driveway. Dog-friendly ($15/night per dog), 2 dog max. The space The loft space has a queen and twin bed for up to three people. The first level has a full bath with shower (the shower is on the smaller side). Another half bath is located in the loft so it's easily accessible from the sleeping space. Looking down from the loft is the kitchen with gas stove, oven, coffee pot and fully stocked cooking utensils. Please bear in mind the loft is accessible via a large ladder. It’s sturdy however if you have any physical limitations or are traveling with small children this cabin might not be the best choice for you. The cabin does NOT have A/C and it can get hot in the summer; if you are someone who requires A/C to live indoors or sleep comfortably during the summer months this cabin is not the best space for you. The cabin has Wifi (NOTE: it's basic wifi and only meant for using email and internet searches; not for downloading large amounts of data or streaming). There is a covered front porch and a back patio with more chairs, a BBQ and a fire pit (please pay attention to any outdoor fire restrictions) The property is dog friendly and dogs are an additional $15 per night/per dog (max 2 dogs). Dogs are not allowed on furniture, may not be left alone in the cabin unless in a secure crate, you pick up after your dog (doggie bags are on the front porch in case you forgot yours) and they may not disturb other animals on the ranch. The dog fee is sent via a separate charge referred to as an 'Extra Service' which must be paid by day of arrival. (Please ignore the new pet fee on AirBnB, it doesn't apply to how we charge for pets) Free range chicken eggs (in season) that come straight from our own Cackle Berry Coop are stocked in your brand new, red, mini retro fridge/freezer. On site (and in season) is also a large garden which you may pick fresh vegetables and herbs from. As the cabin was being built it was taken into consideration of people who would appreciate the vast landscape from Mill Creek Flats, to the who do's of Chimney Rock either way your minds eye will take back with it a reality that only a few are blessed to live. Guest access You must have a vehicle. If you're visiting during winter you must have a winter weather capable vehicle, which means it has a higher clearance, AWD or FWD, and preferably winter tires. The cabin is accessed off of a gravel road and down a dirt driveway. The county doesn't always get the roads down in the valley cleared quickly and you must be prepared to navigate gravel roads covered with snow. Other things to note Due to the loft this cabin is not suitable if a guest has a physical limitation that would prevent them from safety ascending and descending the ladder up to the loft and sleeping area. It is also not suitable for young children. There are many animals on the ranch, a Great Pyrenees working dog, usually 1 or two other dogs, horses (sometimes free roaming), sheep, chickens, outdoor cats and sometimes cows. Three (3) person (including any children) maximum (no exceptions) Two dogs maximum: each dogs is $15/night and may never be left alone in the cabin unless they are in a secure crate (dog owner must supply crate). Guests must disclose if they are bringing a dog and/or service animal. Service animals used for the sole purpose of aiding a person with a disability are permitted, and should be clearly marked as a working animal. No pet fees are assessed for service animals. Pets whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.
