This comfortable, colorful room is located on the 2nd floor of a one-family home located in Chelsea that's accessible to Boston via nearby bus stops with connections to the Blue Line metro direct to downtown Boston. Extremely close to Logan Airport in East Boston, Chelsea is a vibrant, multicultural neighborhood. The Red Room is a private room while providing access to our shared living room, dining room, kitchen and full bathroom. Our bright Sun Room (inside) and Patio Oasis (outside) provide Guests additional relaxing spaces to enjoy! Free on the street parking directly in front of property. All are welcomed! At the Washburn, the living room, dining room, kitchen, sun room, patio and full bathroom are shared spaces. Guests also have access to computer & printing, washer and dryer. I think Boston has lots to offer and I am more than happy to share as well as offer suggestions during your stay! I am an educator, live in the home, an early riser but still available and accessible to assist in any way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. As such, face/face interaction occurs best in evenings, however I am reachable via cell/text/email throughout the day if the need be. My neighborhood of Chelsea is literally in the backyard of Logan International Airport which is reachable within 10 minutes! This vibrant, diverse neighborhood of Chelsea with its close proximity to Boston provides a wide selection of Spanish cuisine reflective of the various countries it represents. The world famous town of Salem is just short commuter rail ride north of Chelsea and Encore (Wynn) Casino, just 10 minutes (4miles) away, brings new excitement to the area! GETTING TO 48 WASHBURN from LOGAN AIRPORT: Two options: 1) Auto via Uber, Lyft or taxi and 2) public transportation (bus & metro). Public transportation is the cheapest and easiest if you have lite luggage. Auto, specifically Uber/Lyft is both fastest and convenient if you have big luggage and is rather inexpensive due to the VERY CLOSE proximity of The Washburn to/from Logan Airport! 1) VIA UBER, LYFT or TAXI - Logan Airport to The Washburn. The Washburn is less than 20 minutes. 2) VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION - Logan Airport to The Washburn (3 steps): (1) TAKE free shuttle from Logan to Metro (light blue); (2) Metro to Maverick Station (purple); (3) Bus 116 or 117 to The Washburn (yellow). Takes about 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Cabot Street stop. You’ll see Beth Israel Deaconess Chelsea and Walgreen's on your left and Petroleum Gas Station on your right. Walk towards Petroleum Gas Station and cross the street (watch the traffic), turning right onto Clinton Street. Washburn Street is a block up from Clinton, you’ll see a light tan building on your left (Tibetan Cultural Center), turn right onto Washburn; the bright red flower container marks your ARRIVAL! ------- GETTING TO/FROM DOWNTOWN BOSTON FROM THE WASHBURN. Via Public Transportation - (2 steps): (1) Walk a block up and cross on the Walgreen side to bus stop (Cabot St) and board Bus 116 or 117 towards Maverick Blue Line metro station. (2) Board Blue Line metro towards Bowdoin; exit State Street for center of downtown Boston! RETURNING: Board Blue Line metro towards Wonderland to Maverick Station. Bus (116 or 117) to Cabot Street. * You can also take Uber/Lyft or taxi which is faster, but cheapest with Uber/Lyft! ** The MBTA (Greater Boston’s metro) runs from approximately 6:00AM to 12:30AM every day of the week.
