Other seasonal and year round cabins surround it.If you are NOT looking for a chain hotel this is a great space, it has upgrades like mini splits, but it is a cabin and is for the nature lover who enjoys the area, the lake, the quiet and proximity to Brimfield Markets, Sturbridge Village, Tree House etc . Below the cabin, visible from the deck is a small deeded private lake beach,( be advised its a sloped/steeper incline road down to this beach) please use only dock on left side of beach lot. The one on the right side is a private dock, Thanks! The cabin is exclusively yours to enjoy - and hence if you need anything please text, email or call me at the numbers noted. Its a small space and ideally suited to couples or small parties up to three people to ensure a comfortable stay. The cabin is not, and cannot be viewed as compatible to a hotel room, its on a hillside so those with mobility or advanced age might now wish to book, parking is two spaces in front of cabin, which accommodate most standard vehicles and trucks, but larger vans and trucks may not fit. As mentioned, its on a hillside (hence the great views) - its a cabin, so has gravel and paver stone path steps. As with the area and cabins, the water is supplied via a well: the water in the area is high in iron content and occasional but infrequent sulfur smell with hot water only, water is fine to drink (there is a Britta water filter provided and in the fridge) but based on taste, you may opt to supply your own bottled water for drinking- I strive to keep the cabin stocked with items to make your stay clean, comfortable and fun, and think it offers a great get away. With that being said, I hope you will treat this cottage and the beach area, as you would your own home, the beach area is accessed via a rather steep incline (as mentioned this is hillside cabin), and is a private beach shared by all homeowners in the immediate area - it is usually quiet but on holidays and heatwaves, you can expect company and active boating/jet skiing - there is no trash pick up or cans at beach area so all trash must be picked up and deposited at the cabin receptacles Equal parts year round dwellings and seasonal cottages, the area is hilly and part of what is known as "the last Green Valley", a national heritage area known for being peaceful, and rich in outdoor recreation. The lake area is mostly cottage dwellings typical of New England recreational lake settings: close house proximity but very quiet. Close to Bigelow Hollow State Park, Union CT , Brimfield forest, Wells State, several smaller land trust hiking areas, the famous Tree House Brewery (20 minutes!) parks for hiking/walking in addition to fishing at Hamilton Reservoir (fishing license suggested). GPS takes you here, close access to I-84, exit 74 or MA Pike, room for 3 cars/trucks in front parking spaces. Holland is a lake community without a downtown per se - retail and food shopping, entertainment outside of lake activity, restaurants your best bet is to go into Sturbridge, which is easily accessed via Sturbridge Rd. Uber and riding sharing not available, Sturbridge has taxi service available Guests are required to be age 25+ **** WINTER SEASON GUESTS: the cabin is peaceful and scenic this time of year but please note the terrain is hilly, the cabin is on the side of a hill, and New England weather can be challenging, snow and/or icy or mix. Please use extreme caution on steps, walkways, parking areas. The town and/or neighbors usually have Williams lane cleared after a snowfall, but in the event of extreme snow/blizzard pending conditions, changes or cancellations of booking may be unavoidable. Feel free to use all kitchen items, Please wash dishes, no dishwasher/garbage disposal on premises. Help yourself to coffee and whatever snack items or breakfast items are in fridge/cabinets! Please practice the saying "take only pictures, leave only footprints” when down at the deeded lake beach area, this is a private beach for all homeowners and as such, is very quiet and must be kept litter free, Thanks!
