Description
Read it all before booking. Another well-kept secret on airbnb in this rapidly-growing valley! A rescued historic cabin, belonging to a sheep herder named Ray Wallery in the 50's and 60's. Live how he lived. No power, no water, no heat and no AC in this cabin. You will share common space with other visitors. Shower, toilet, fire pit and field. Rustic and small, but lots of solitude. Quite often you have the place to yourself with the exception of farm animals. We are a farm. The space The bed is a double, which was upgraded from the single Ray Wallery would have used. He probably had at least one dog and you may too, but please don't surprise me with pets. I need advance notice. It's not a huge space, but is cozy and endearing. Ray left some sweet messages on the walls, which I have framed with antique frames. His handy work is also scribed on a bench, Ray Wallery 1962. Moved from the mountains where he inhabited it, I think he'd probably shake his head at the fact that we are renting his old cabin out to people from all over the world. There is no AC, heat, power or running water. Guest access We have an outdoor shower house with heat-on-demand water as well as a composting outhouse and/or port-potty. Other things to note If you need to arrive late, it's not a problem. I can give you exact directions to the farm and you can let yourself "in". Please don't surprise me with your pets. I will need advance notice that you are bringing a pet along. This is a working farm and we have pets as well as farm animals. I've been at this for over 16 years. Just when I think I've seen it all....well, I should write a book! Basically follow the Golden Rule. Do unto others. Don't leave your trash laying around, pick up after yourself and leave it like you found it.
