Pristine Mid-Century home in cul de sac of 24 similar era homes. Great location close to Village of East Davenport, I-74, two bike trails, and within 20 minutes of everything in the Quad Cities! Clean and comfortable, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 2 car attached garage, full kitchen and no steps anywhere! Pricing quoted for 4 guests, $25 per person for additional guests up to 6 total. Being huge MidCentury fans we realized the value of our neighborhood would be best preserved if the home was "gently" updated in a period specific manner, embracing and keeping the original elements that work, like the original floor tile in the entry and bathrooms, the kitchen cabinets (forward thinking for the day with above cabinet lighting), the many built-ins, breakfast bar, wood tile flooring and ALL the original windows. We learned that this was one of two model homes on the street back in the late 1950's. Our plan is to continue the updating as an ongoing process in a manner that updates but is consistent with the era of the home. We love the unique space and it's furnished in our style of Mid-Century Modern, Euro Chic with maybe a touch of the unexpected. The home was designed to bring nature inside with larger windows and an amazing amount of planters incorporated into: the top of the floating closet, the shelving in the Family Room, plus there were planters on top of the kitchen cabinets and that ever so charming copper gutter on the fireplace. The brick planter inside the entry is a visual extension of it's sister outside. If you are an avid TV watchers, the home may fall short for you, there is ONE TV total in the house, in the Family Room. We provide WiFi for your Roku, complimentary Netflix and antenna for local channels however local channels are not always crystal clear. Nice sized flat back yard with patio you'll enjoy in the warmer weather and a concrete stamped patio in the front. Parkwood Drive is a quiet area, with many retirees and original owners, but we are starting to see more young families join our area. It's a great area for walking or biking. We live down the street, if there's something you are lacking let us know and we'll run it down for you. Thank you for taking the time to read this! House manual 1) Self Check in is with a combination box, you will find the combination box on the man door to the garage, located on the front porch. We will message you the code a day or so prior to checking. 2) No smoking in the house. 3) Strip the beds you've used and put the sheets/pillowcases in the baskets you will find in the closets. No need to remove the mattress or pillow protectors. 4) Please do not use the decorative pillows for sleeping, there are extra pillows in the hall closet or bedroom closets if needed. 5) Please do not rearrange the furniture (yes, that has happened!) 6) The garbage disposal is a little odd, the black circular piece that sits on the top of the left sink fits into the disposal, turn it and turns on the disposal, plenty of room for water entry. 7) Please wash your dishes and put away, or have them loaded and running in the dishwasher, the dishwasher pellets are in the drawer to the right of the dishwasher. 8) If you cook, run the exhaust fan (switch is next to the breakfast bar area) and leave the kitchen tidy and clean for next guest. 9) Please run the exhaust fan in the hall bathroom when showering or bathing. The yellow tub is original, there are some nicks and rust stains in it, but we clean and scrub it between stays for our guests. 10) Extra blankets are in the hall closet or in the bedroom closets if needed. 11) The switch for the exterior post light is the light switch closest to the front door, there is a cover on the switch, but you can you can flip the light off if the switch is too bright in the master bedroom at night. 12) Garbage cans will be in the garage or outside next to the garage, the blue bin is for recycling, - glass bottles, plastics, cardboard can all go into the blue bin for curbside recycling. Please feel free to put your garage in the appropriate bin. Garbage day is Monday, cans need to be curbside by 7am. 13) The breaker panel is in the garage, on rare occasions a guest has tripped a breaker, if that happens call us or if you are comfortable just flip the breaker back on. 14) The mechanical room is in the garage, if you go into that room be sure to close the door and lock the door to the back yard. Keeping that room closed helps keep the house cooler or warmer, depending on the weather. It's a long run from the furnace to the side bedrooms. 16) The yard may be serviced periodically during your stay, or the yard may be mowed during your stay. We promise to not mow too early or too late! 17) Internet passwords are on the door to the refrigerator. Network is Arnold 18) Parties are no banned by airbnb. Small gatherings with our approval, as long as all cars can stay on the driveway. Please do not park on the stamped concrete patio. 19) We strike to be pet free for our guests who have allergies. 20) Please do not put anything during the toilet but toilet paper and human waste. Our older plumbing can't handle any type of wipes (even the flush-able ones) or feminine hygiene products. 21) Charges quoted per night are for 4 guests total (no children or infants please!), each additional guest up to 6 is $25 per night. We are not suited for groups over 6 people, unless by owner approval. 22) Please do not use the fireplace, we have never checked the chimney and don't know if it's safe. 23) If you use the grill clean it after you are done. 24) Please park on the driveway or in the garage. Lock your cars at night, we live in a safer area but have had kids go through cars that are unlocked. Try to limit cars to 3 total, 1 in garage and 2 on driveway, for your own protection try not to park on the curve going into the cul de sac. 25) Do not park on the concrete stamped patio in the front of the house. 26) The post office will not deliver mail to the address. Please do not have mail or packages routed to the house. 27) There are a couple bikes in the garage you are welcome to borrow, but no helmets. There are 2 bike baths close by. Closest one is right on Lombard, cross Jersey Ridge, right on Belle and end end of street takes you to one of the bike baths. If you ride west, path ends at Emeis Golf course, there and back is approx 11 miles. To the East are other options. There is another bike path next to the river, easy to get to crossing Mound St in the Village of E Davenport. 28) Lock house when you leave and do not leave the garage door open when not home. 29) If traveling with a Service animal, please review the IA Laws and be prepared to provide us with the documentation we are legally allowed to ask for. While I cannot post the link, you may find the info online by searching US Service Animals, state of Iowa. We do not accept ESAs. 30) Our business model is to accommodate persons over the age of 12 only. We live down the street if you need anything. It's a quiet neighborhood in a great location with many elderly residents, the neighbors are really great! It's a nice neighborhood for walking in. Entire house, garage and yard with front and back patio. We have 3 car maximum, please keep all vehicles on the driveway or in the garage. 2 cars will fit on the driveway. Please keep garage door closed when not moving cars in or out or when gone. Parkwood Drive is a quite residential area of 24 homes. #4 is on the curve into the street, so there is limited parked in front of the house. We ask that you park 1 car in the garage and 2 on the driveway. We have a contract for lawn care, they may service the lawn during your stay. The lawn may also be mowed during your stay. The yellow bathtub is original to the home, it has some stains and scratches, but we scrub and clean it between guests.
