Walk 15 mins to restaurants downtown, 20 mins to Smith College and 2 to the bike path. Use the Elizabeth St sidewalk. At the stairs, take a right and follow the brick paver walkway to the back of the house. There you'll find your private entrance, a white door with keypad lock. Once inside, you'll enter a mudroom where you can leave your shoes, coats, luggage and even bicycles. then into the main space which is furnished and decorated with care. The fully functional kitchen is equipped with an induction burner, Breville toaster oven, microwave, Keurig, custom wooden countertops, pots, pans, dishes and everything you might need to prepare a meal. This is a renovated basement apartment which has a new mini-split so it stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It’s also light and bright with windows in the main space, and a large atrium window (which also functions as an emergency exit) with a blackout shade in the bedroom. We’re obsessed with atmosphere so there are sliders on all the light switches, as well as standing and table lamps to help you get the lighting just right. There’s a super comfortable queen bed and sleeper sofa with luxury bedding to sleep 4, and high speed Wifi, so you can work at either the dining table or work nook, and stream shows or movies with the Roku. Your private entrance has a keypad. The garden path has solar lights for nighttime safety. The backyard is a shared use space. When the weather is good, you can use the brick patio in the garden for relaxation. We’re excited to share our beautiful apartment with you and the amount of interaction with us is really up to you. We live on the top floors of the house and are always available for any questions or needs you have, and we also respect your privacy. We’ll greet you in person, if possible, and are happy to share a glass of wine, and our many years of expertise in the area if that appeals to you. If you’d rather let yourself in and communicate via text, that works just as well. Tons of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and stores downtown. Walk, run or bike on the bike path, which is one block from the apartment. Close to the highway and the 5 colleges (Smith, Amherst, Hampshire, Mt. Holyoke, UMass Amherst) There is always street parking available, but if you don't have a car, you can Uber everywhere, and walk most places in Northampton. There is also a bike share with electric bikes that you can rent and use to explore our beautiful bike path which takes you to Amherst in one direction and Easthampton in the other. Because of Covid 19 concerns, we are adopting more stringent cleaning and disinfecting protocols. There will be a 24 hour period for cleaning between bookings. We ask that guests, prior to their arrival, be able to answer affirmatively that are aware the current Covid restrictions here in Massachusetts.
