The space Acorn Cabin is a beautifully restored Granary, originally constructed in 1912. Step inside, and you'll be walking on the original fir wood floors. Professionally refurbished in 2009, Acorn Cabin offers a stay in the country with the feeling of history and the comfort of restoration. The Cabin features a lovely 2nd floor bedroom with vaulted ceilings, a cozy sitting area, full kitchen and bathroom with shower. Relax on the Amish built front porch with a view of the pastures. There is also a fully furnished YOGA STUDIO and workout area in a refurbished Milk House - just across the yard - that is available for your use. PRIVATE GOLF DRIVING RANGE - available right here on the property - 300 yards in length, with one free bucket of balls. Bring your golf clubs!!! Guest access Located a block from the Trout Run Bike Trail, and just 3 short minutes south of downtown Decorah, and the Decorah Eagle Nest. Enjoy easy access to town while staying on a beautifully maintained farm that dates back to the early 1900's. Sheep graze in the meadows beyond the Cabin, and corn and bean fields roll across the hills. • Just one block away from the Trout Run Trail — an 11 mile paved loop which winds through the farms and woodlands of Northeast Iowa. • The world famous Decorah Bald Eagle Nest, and Trout Run Fish Hatchery are a mile and a half away (you can access them easily from the bike trail). • Downtown Decorah with its shopping, restaurants, coffee shops & museums is just down the road - a three minute drive from the Cabin, or a quick spin on the bike trail. • Luther College and the Norsemen are on the other side of town, just a five minute drive away — perfect if you're visiting students or have college business. • There are two golf courses in Decorah - both easy driving distance from the Cabin. • Seed Savers Exchange, known for stewarding and harvesting a collection of 25,000 rare and heirloom varieties of seeds, is just north of town and an amazing place to visit. Other things to note Enjoy a deeply comfortable queen bed upstairs in the spacious 2nd floor. Wake to views of the oak trees, open fields and grazing sheep. Acorn Cabin is also equipped with two inflatable mattresses and a futon for additional guests. Acorn Cabin features a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, coffee maker and toaster oven.
