The home is 27 miles to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in one direction and 20 miles to the Lava viewing area in Kalapana in the opposite direction and just 14 miles to the fresh lava flows from the 2018 eruption. It is also central to the towns of Pahoa, Keaau and Hilo. This secure property is fenced off and gated. It has a peaceful country feeling with only one neighbor in view from certain spots upstairs. Beautiful tropical landscaping with many exotic birds you will hear the sounds of nature. Coqui frogs will sing in the evening and the crows of roosters will let you know when the new day is beginning. It is a great place to relax and unwind. Very clean with ceramic tile and granite counter tops, two bedrooms have carpet and one with a hardwood floor. All bedrooms have keyed entry for added security. It has an office space with a desk and basic office supplies, printer, copier, scanner plus a day bed. With plenty of windows for natural light the house is very comfortable and inviting. There is a deck upstairs as well as downstairs so if you have a larger group you have room to spread out or to come together. It has Roku t.v. in all bedrooms and living room. Wi-Fi throughout. Internet is through Hawaiian Telcom hard wired with speed up to 1000 mbs. The laundry room is stocked with detergent, bleach, fabric conditioner, iron, ironing table and large capacity washer and dryer. All bathrooms have towels, wash clothes, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream and toothpaste. The kitchen has stainless steel gas stove, microwave and refrigerator that has an ice maker and water dispenser. Pots and pans, dishes, utensils, rice cooker, crock pot, toaster, coffee maker, and keurig. There is a gas grill on the lower patio near the kitchen for your convenience as well as a hammock to lounge in after a good meal. All of our water is harvested from the rain and goes through a state of the art filtration system complete with ultra violet light for clean, safe, pure,delicious drinking water. As far as food and beverage we will provide a whole bean coffee and keurig pods. Avocados, bananas, tangerines, oranges, tangelos, lemons and mountain apples are all organically grown on the property and will be available when in season. In the garage you will find two soft top surfboards, two body boards, as well as various coolers for your day trips. Paddle board tours and surfing lessons are also available for a fee, weather permitting. Guests can utilize the entire home as well as the beautiful landscaped yard surrounding it and don't forget to try the thinking rock. The host Tony lives in a separate home on the back of the property so he is usually available for help or advice when needed. This part of the neighbor hood is all three acre lots therefore the homes are spread out. The last half mile to our location is on a gravel road but is well worth the trip when you arrive at your oasis in the rain forest. We are three miles from the highway where public transportation is, so a rental car is highly recommended. The home has a two car garage plus at least three additional parking stalls within ten or twenty feet of home. Within three miles of the house there is a gas station, convenience hardware store and fast food establishment. Grocery shopping can be done in the towns of Hilo, Keaau or Pahoa. I would recommend shopping in Hilo for better prices and variety.
