Description
Robbie and Marjorie Robertson built their beach home in 1947 from a recycled redwood railroad bridge. Its 10-foot ceilings, indoor and outdoor lanais capture the feel of gracious Hawai’i living. Fronting the home are three white sand beaches and a sheltered lagoon which offers a safe playground for children to learn to swim and snorkel. The large front yard and private promontory provide plenty of room for games, a sunset cocktail or whatever suits your fancy. The space Welcome to the Historic Beach Home. This gracious home, situated directly on the ocean with 3 sandy beaches (rare in Kailua-Kona!), was the weekend home to the owner's parents. It is an ideal vacation spot for families, along with their friends, to use as a base of operation for visiting Hawai'i island or for just "refilling your cup" by relaxing on the lanai, watching dolphins and whales (in the winter) pass by. We pride ourselves on anticipating your every need - including luxurious linens and a fully equipped kitchen. The house is built one-room deep so as to take advantage of the "mauka-makai" (mountain-ocean) breezes. There are ceiling fans in every room and we have never missed having air conditioning. If there are more of you than fit in the House, the Seaside Zen Cottage (separate listing) is located immediately next door and combining the two properies works well for larger families. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions! Aloha TA-149-182-8736-01 Guest access You have access to the entire house. Other things to note If you wish to host an event for more than 20, including those in residence, there will be a site fee and you must also rent the adjacent Seaside Zen Cottage. Please contact us for more information about hosting events. Registration Details TA-149-182-8736-01
