Adorable two story one bedroom stand alone house less than a mile from the bohemian town of Paia, in the middle of all North Shore Beaches. THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE is a bright shiny A-frame structure with extremely high ceilings, stained glass windows, and skylights making it open and and airy, with AC and ceiling fans, nestled in a gigantic mango tree. We are located less than a mile away from the bohemian surf town of Paia, just off the Hana Highway shoreline road, and the house is smack in the middle of all the North Shore beaches. Perfect for romance, or sports vacations, or time with friends and family, with a very large marble bathroom and special jacuzzi hot tub. The second floor bedroom has a built in queen size bed with French doors that open up to a tree house feeling lanai. The main floor has a living area with a full size futon/couch, t.v. and a fully equipped kitchen. You can see the ocean from upstairs, but we do not call it a full ocean view, as there are large trees blocking some of the view. On the ground floor there is also a covered patio, with a large seating area, an outdoor grill, swinging chair, outdoor shower to remove the sand from your day at the beach and your own private parking area. The closest beach access is at Tavares, and Kuau point, both just 3 blocks away in either direction The neighborhood is quiet, and safe, with friendly neighbors that are kind, water sports kind of people who are quiet, concerned with the environment, and living in a healthy lifestyle. WE ALSO HAVE THE OPTION TO RENT OUR HONDA ELEMENT FOR $60 A DAY. Ask for current rates when you get in touch. We are a county permitted vacation rental. maui county permit #2017/0001 You will have an outdoor space for grilling dining and socializing. There is free parking beside the house and a shared laundry room with washers and dryers. Boogie boards, beach umbrellas and chairs, fins, yoga mats, etc. are available to our guests on a first come, first serve bases. Also, local shops rent gear, surf boards and bicycles. If you are traveling with a small child, there are baby rental companies that deliver to us. Aloha, I live right next door to the property, so I can be available if anything is needed. From Fodor's Best American Small Towns-June 2014. PAIA, HAWAII Population: 2,668 "It can be difficult to find remnants of authentic Hawaii behind the multitude of resorts, but this is one of the last holdouts. Located on Maui's northern coast just off Highway 36, Paia was founded as a sugarcane enclave and though the sugar mill closed in 2000, the town is as alive as ever. Boutiques featuring everything from high-end fashion to beachwear line the streets, and with some of the world's best windsurfing spots in the area, you're sure to find an opportunity to put your new gear to good use. Because it sits along the route to Hana, the town is pleasantly devoid of major resorts and offers a great stopping-off place for a few hours or a few days." Our notes: We are within one mile of all North Shore Beaches: Baldwin, Tavares, Paia Bay, Mama's and Ho'okipa. We are on the mountain side of Hana Highway. Paia town has the best healthfood store on the island (with great prices, local produce, freshly baked goods and a hot food take away bar), lots of delicious restaurants (including the acclaimed Mama's Fish House), unique shops, gelato parlor, yoga studios, galleries and boutiques. We highly recommend that you rent a car so that you can get around and experience all that this beautiful island has to offer. We have two Honda Elements that we rent out, contact us right after you book your stay, and we will get you set up with a fun Automatic, Element. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING: We would like to disclose that our houses are in a tropical environment, If this is your first time visiting Hawaii, please know that insects and geckos may find their way into the house. They are a part of island living and we have learned to coexist with them, especially since they are not dangerous and are much more afraid of us than we should be of them. We strive to keep our houses very clean but this does not mean that the houses will always be insect free. Like other rentals in this neighborhood and unlike the huge resorts, time share properties and hotels in the tourist areas that get heavy doses of pesticides, have closed windows with central air conditioning, we use limited amounts of minimum impact, natural insecticides since we do not wish to poison ourselves, our guests or the environment. Please keep this in mind when considering booking with us.
