Description
Enjoy a sanitary, upscale, peaceful, and private sleeping environment 600 yards from the heart of vibrant Davis Square and a block from Tufts University. The Davis (T) Station is a 4-minute walk and offers rapid and direct Red Line subway access to the entire Boston metro area via Cambridge and crossing the Charles River. Two newly renovated and furnished 3rd-floor bedrooms that sleep up to four guests, have large dedicated closets, and are exclusively served by a brand new luxury bathroom. The space The rooms should be considered an attractive and sanitary “urban campsite” providing a comfortable place to sleep, shower, and securely keep your belongings while visiting the area. The property is directly proximate to the bustle and energy of Davis Square, but far enough outside it to provide a quiet resting environment in the evenings. While the rooms are clean (per Airbnb's strict disinfectant protocols) and comfortable, they are on the smaller side and I do not consider them ideal places to lounge or hang out during the day (unless sleeping…). They are more suited for people who are out and about in the city. Guest access The front porch and side yard, the foyer of house and both sets of stairs up, the bathroom on the second floor landing, and rooms 3A and 3B. Guests are asked not to enter the basement of the house as it is for the use of permanent tenants. During your stay Although I also reside in the house, I am typically away at work during the day and rarely available in person. And for this reason, the arrangements at the house are logistically designed for the guest’s independent arrival and socially distanced access to their private quarters. I am, like most people, consistently “on the grid” electronically so happy to try and answer questions if the need arises. Other things to note Street parking in Somerville requires a temporary visitor permit which we can make available for $10 per evening. It is valid for no more than three (3) consecutive days by local city parking regulations. Additional nights may be accommodated (on a case-by-case basis) in the property’s driveway for $20 per night. The second set of stairs up to the third (3rd) floor is fairly narrow and on the steeper side - and NOT for those with either mobility issues or carrying larger and heavier pieces of luggage up to their rooms. If you are in either of these categories, I would dissuade you from booking here as it will likely be problematic. The guest rooms occupy the entirety of the third (3rd) floor while the guest bath is located on the second (2nd) floor landing. The bath is directly proximate and exclusive to the guest rooms but down a short flight of stairs.
