As we all know, the beautiful people of Lahaina experienced an unimaginable tragedy and loss of life. So many people on the island have been affected in so many ways. We honor the people of Maui and pray for their recovery. We can help by visiting the island and showing our love and respect. Maui's economy depends on us. Our condo is located on the south side in Kihei and was not directly affected. The south side is open and waiting for you. Pls message us w/ questions. In the spirit of Aloha~ Great central location to explore the island, relax by the pool or on your private deck. Imagine your morning coffee, the lush garden view, the tropical birds cooing, the warmth of the sun, glorious walks on the beach. These moments and so many more evoke the feeling of true aloha in Kihei. Beach, restaurants, shops, groceries are a short 2 min walk away. The complex is small, in a low density area. Unit is on a corner, with an exterior private entrance and quickly becomes your Ohana on Maui. Information about the condo: There are A/C units in both bedrooms and living room. Our unit is not equipped with central A/C. The window A/C’s work well but are not designed to run all the time. The summer months can be warm on Maui so if you are someone who is not comfortable with summer heat, you may want to consider a unit with central A/C. July and August are the warmest months on Maui. Our condo has high ceilings, ceiling fans and great air flow so the A/C’s are not necessary all the time. We have a fully stocked kitchen for making meals. Beach toys, Tommy Bahama backpack Beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, and towels supplied. Snorkel gear is not provided due to the fact that they cannot be sanitized adequately between guests. There are some flippers. There are lots of places to rent snorkel gear. We are a corner unit with two short flights of stairs with a landing in the middle. The entrance is private and has a nice porch for shoes and other things. It feels like home. The ceilings are vaulted with fans and create an airy, open feel. Our balcony overlooks the pool and grounds. The pool has a beautiful whale mosaic and the jacuzzi has been retiled. The cabana at the pool has a full kitchen and gas barbecues and is a few steps from the condo. We are a short walk to many fine restaurants, shops, Long's drugs and a grocery store (Times Market). A short walk across a quiet neighborhood street brings you to the Kihei Beach for breathtaking sunsets and beach walks. Championship golf courses are close by. Many beautiful public access beaches with world class snorkeling in Wailea are less than a 10 min drive away. A short walk down a neighborhood street brings you to public tennis courts and pickle ball courts with spectacular ocean views. We are 20 minutes to Kahului (OGG) airport. There are convenient laundry facilities located in each building. The Hawaiian style complex with lush garden setting is peaceful and tranquil. The complex is a non-smoking complex and includes our unit, balcony and our stairs. There are two designated smoking areas on the property. Pool, jacuzzi, cabana with gas grills, grounds, laundry rooms are all accessible by guests. Pool and jacuzzi hours are 9am - 10pm. Children must be 14 years or older to be in the pool area without adult supervision. Laundry room in building accessible by guests. Machines are coin operated. Bring quarters! I am available at any time through the Airbnb site or text to my cell phone. We have an on-island representative who lives in the complex and is also available during your stay for any assistance you may need. Our condo is located in a neighborhood and the bedroom windows face the street. You may hear some noises from the street at times (usually never an issue). If you are a light sleeper, there are fans and an A/C in the master and guest bedroom that provide white noise. The local street and neighborhood add to the charm of the condo and the complex. The part we can’t say enough about is the feeling in Kihei: the trade winds, sunsets, waking in the morning to the local birds cooing, the Hawaiian “laid back” style of living in Kihei Garden Estates all add to its charm. The complex has been carefully planned to take full advantage of paradise island living. You have to experience it first hand to fully appreciate it. Let our condo be your Maui Ohana (home). Discover true aloha spirit. Experience the magic of Kihei. Street parking is very convenient within 50 ft of our unit and usually always available. Parking is also available throughout the complex. Kihei Garden Estates is a two story garden style complex, very accessible and feels like home. The condo is centrally located and provides a comfortable home base for exploring Maui. Summer months: Be prepared for 90+ degree heat and higher humidity during the day. Do not bring a lot of clothes with you. Dress light! Cleaning Surcharge: $50 surcharge will be collected if there is excessive sand in the condo upon a guest's departure. This is in addition to the cleaning fee. We ask our guests to be mindful of sand when coming into the condo. There is a convenient foot wash by the pool gate 20 ft from the unit. A/C Surcharge: Up to $10 per day for excessive A/C use. We ask our guests to be mindful of their A/C use. Cooling with the natural island ocean breezes allows Mother Nature to be a part of your Aloha experience. Tropical birds singing and cooing, the occasional rooster crowing, the ocean nearby. These are the sounds of Kihei Garden Estates, your Ohana on Maui! Our Maui home does not have central A/C. We have A/C window units in the living area and bedrooms which work very well to provide comfort while sleeping and/or relaxing on the 90+ summer days. We ask our guests to be mindful of the A/C's and help us conserve by turning them off when the outside air cools down and when you leave the unit. The A/C's cool quickly so there is no reason to leave them on when not in the unit. The twin room gets great air flow with the two windows open and the ceiling and room fan on. The twin bedroom door can be shut at night providing privacy with the A/C on or not. The master bedroom door needs to be left open for air flow if not using the A/C. If using A/C, door needs to be shut otherwise it is fighting with the warmer air in the condo. During the night, as the air cools, you can turn off the A/C and open up the windows and the bedroom door. For best cooling at night, the master bedroom door should be left open when the A/C is not on especially during the warmer months. The A/C's are not necessary other times of the year as the condo has high ceilings, ceiling fans and room fans which provide very good cross ventilation with the tropical breezes. Teenagers: The condo has immediate access to a beautiful walking, wading, paddle boarding, and sunset beach. It is not the classic boogey boarding beach. It is more of a bay. The bigger wave beaches can be found one mile further south (Kamoale Beaches I, II, III.) In our experience, with our teenagers, it was not an issue. They loved going with their parents for early morning beach adventures. There are MANY beautiful beaches to explore. Our teenagers liked hanging out at the pool in the complex too. If you are looking for the action and/or more younger people at the beach, you may want to consider a condo in the higher density Kamoale Beach area.
