The house is located in the University Heights section of Newark and is very close to the Newark airport, Rutgers, NJIT and Essex County College. The location is safe with free street parking or a guest 24 hour parking pass can be obtained from security. Whole Foods and Starbucks are downtown or ShopRite can be walked to. Some restaurants are nearby and more options are downtown or in the historic Ironbound section. The house is located steps away from public transportation to Manhattan. The house has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The room for guests is spacious with a queen bed (a cot is also available for larger groups) large closet, dresser, desk, TV (Roku stick with Netflix and Hulu) and two windows which let in a lot of natural light when the blackout curtains are drawn. I live in the master bathroom and have my own full bathroom. The full bathroom in the hallway is shared with only my tenant who occupies the third room. Common areas - living room, dining room, laundry room, kitchen and half bathroom downstairs are shared with both of us. In addition to the private room, guests can access the full bathroom in the hallway, living room, dining room, kitchen and half bathroom downstairs. The laundry room can be used by guests who are staying a week or longer. Free street parking on side streets is plentiful and safe due to 24 hour security driving by regularly. A 24 hour parking pass can be obtained from security to park inside of the lot. A 30 day parking pass is available for a fee. I keep myself busy but I’m very accessible to guests. I check my phone often and respond quickly to messages. University Heights is being called the new Brooklyn. The Renaissance of Newark is underway with new restaurants and apartment buildings. The house is located in the heart of where the action is but far enough away from downtown to mimic suburbia. You can enjoy a nice day in the Veterans Memorial Park or head downtown to try out the chic restaurants on Halsey Street. Go see a show at NJPAC or catch a Devils game at the Prudential Center. You also don't want to miss an opportunity to eat at a Brazilian restaurant in the Ironbound section. A bus stops a few steps away from the front door and gets to Newark Penn Station in only a few stops. There is the Warren Street Light Rail station about a 5 minute walk away which also gets to Newark Penn Station on the third stop. Uber and Lyft come to the neighborhood in minutes. Highways (280, 95 and Garden State Parkway) are nearby. Manhattan is about 10 miles away. The breakfast provided is continental and I am willing to accommodate special dietary needs before you arrive. There is a cot (air mattress selected because a cot was not listed) in the room that can be set up for a third person. There will be an additional fee of $15 for a third adult.
