Macarty House is conveniently located just minutes from the French Quarter. This historic mansion was built on the former grounds of the Macarty Plantation. Through the years and many owners, the main house has a funky but charming feel. The backyard is an oasis where you will find a covered bar with seating, a pool, and a large deck. The home accommodates up to 16 guests maximum with 8 bedrooms each with a private bathroom. We do host weddings/events. Please contact us for more information. Situated on a triple lot, the property’s spacious grounds include a brick courtyard that can accommodates 3-5 cars leading to the property's amazing back yard. Through the courtyard gate you are greeted by the granite topped bar and seating area that is covered. Wrapping around the back of the main house you find our two cottages and a two-stall bathroom before arriving at our beautiful 6 foot deep, 15,000 gallon pool. After turning the corner, you'll find a large, 1,200 foot deck running the length of the main house. Inside the main house on the first floor you'll find a living area divided by historic pocket doors, the kitchen, a laundry room, an office, a sitting room, a full bathroom and a dining room. Six bedrooms are located on the second floor including 2 with king beds, 3 queens, and 1 a full. All bedrooms have their own private bathroom. The other two bedrooms are a located on the ground floor with 1 king bed and 1 queen - both with private bathrooms. We're located in the fun and funky Bywater neighborhood which is about 1.5 miles from the French Quarter and is in walking distance of numerous bars, restaurants, and live music. Lots of artists and musicians make their homes in this neighborhood so there is always something to see or hear as you walk through the streets. Be sure to check out the Crescent Park, Studio B, The Music Box, Dr. Bob's art warehouse, known for his "Be Nice or Leave" signs... there's so many. Please refer to our GUIDEBOOK for all the details. Parking for multiple cars is available on site and there is also ample parking on the street. Don't have a car? Uber, Lyft, recommended shuttle/tour services, and United Cabs are readily available by call ahead or app. Feeling adventurous? There's a bank of rental Blue Bikes right across the street at the library as well as several long term bike rental shops nearby.
