Built before setbacks from the water were required, our condo is literally right on the ocean. The space Our two bedroom, one bath, second floor, oceanfront unit is the ideal vacation home to share with your family and friends. As soon as you walk in the door, you'll feel as if you've stepped into another place and time. It has everything you need for a truly comfortable stay: - Bedroom #1 - Queen bed - Bedroom #2 - Two twin beds ( can be converted to King) - Living Room - Daybed / twin size - Air Conditioning, ample to cool the entire condo! The AC is located in the living room area. - Keypad door lock (no keys or cards to carry) - Free WiFi, 34" Flat Screen "smart" TV and Blu-ray DVD player - Telephone with free long distance to USA and Canada - Fully equipped kitchen - Beach gear ( usually left by previous guest, no guarantees!). We supply towels, beach chairs and coolers, and there is blue ice in the freezer! - Portable PakNPlay and high chair are available on request. - Resident green sea turtles that you can watch from the lanai (we call the big guy"Ted") - 2nd Floor, stair access only (no elevator) From our private lanai, you have an unobstructed ocean view of neighboring islands of Lanai and Molokai, miles of open water, spectacular sunsets, sail boats, soft breezes, turtles, dolphins and ocean waves. And, whales! If you visit between mid-November to mid-April, you will see lots and lots of whales!! Experience "Old Hawaiian" charm at Maui Sands. The spacious living and dining area open onto a large lanai to provide space to stretch out, read, relax, watch the ocean or play games in the evening. The fully furnished kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator/freezer (equipped with an ice maker!) and a stove. You'll have plenty of seating for meals at the dining room table, around the bar and at the table on the lanai . We have tried to keep a vintage flavor, but for the more technically inclined, the unit is completed with WiFi, a flat screen TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, and a keypad door lock (no keys to carry around). The unit can sleep up to five (5) guests on beds. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the guestroom has two twin beds and there is a twin size daybed in the living room. Six is the maximum number of guests allowed by the the building association. In the bathroom, the vanity is separate from the water closet, making it convenient for larger groups. Stroll through three acres of lovingly tended, lush tropical gardens with plenty of grassy areas, tropical fruit trees, native plants and room to play outdoors. The property has a fresh water swimming pool, 3 BBQs, an ice machine and a coin or app operated laundromat. You are just steps away from snorkeling, surfing, scuba diving, paddle boarding, wave jumping or just simply basking in the sun right in front of our home. You can watch the kids play in the water from your lanai or the grassy strip along the beach. Bring your snorkeling gear, or rent from across the street. Discover the abundant sea life in the ocean waters right in front of our condo. Maybe you'll get lucky and share the water with one of our resident green sea turtles. For a change of pace, take a short walk north and you'll find Honokowai Park with picnic tables, jungle gym, shade trees and a sandy beach. Your kids will love it. And, sometimes you'll find a turtle basking on the beach. Stop at the farmer's market on your way back for some appetizers to enjoy while you watch the sunset or browse through local shops for the perfect island-made jewelry, keepsake or gift. If you're ambitious, you can pick up the board walk a few blocks south and walk 3 miles all the way to Black Rock and Kaanapali Beach. You will have an off-street reserved parking place for your car, included in your rental price, but can easily walk to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, a fish market and a farmers' market. Maui Sands is located in West Maui on Lower Honoapiilani Road between Kaanapali and Kapalua, a short drive or bus ride for you to enjoy world-class beaches, golf courses and shopping at Whaler's Village. There are also bicycle and moped rentals available within walking distance. Venture north to the Blow Hole or charming Kahakuloa Village for a taste of Julia's banana bread. Then, return to the quiet grounds of Maui Sands, look up to admire the stars and fall asleep listening to the gentle lapping of the ocean waves. Aloha 'Oe! See you soon!. Guest access *Our check in time is 5pm and check out is 11am. *Please enjoy full use of #4G and the grounds of Maui Sands while you are here. The exception is the owners lock out. Please do not open any locked closets or cupboards. *You will find beach towels chairs and coolers, as well as some beach toys. For the sake of both sanitation and fit, snorkel gear can be rented from several vendors in walking distance. A library and games are available for your use as well. Maui Sands has a shared pool with a covered BBQ and sundeck for your use. We have ocean access by way of the stairs located centrally along the shoreline. There are additional BBQ grills located on the central grounds of the property. Our hale is your hale while you are here! Other things to note *We take your safety and well-being seriously. We have a comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing program for this property. Our cleaning service and on-site staff are spending as much time as necessary to make sure that all areas of your rental are thoroughly cleaned before you check in. We ask you to plan ahead as we may not be able to allow early check ins and late check outs as often as we would like. *Hawaii has a tropical climate. Insects, lizards & rodents thrive in this environment. We make every effort to minimize your contact with them inside & outside of the unit. Presence of these creatures does not constitute a breach of contract or offer the Guest any rights to refunds. *Please also note that Hawaii is the most remote archipelago in the world. We are very pro-active when it comes to repair and replacement of appliances. If you see a potential issue please let us know as we are limited to supply and it may take several days before we are able to get replacements *For check ins on Christmas and Thanksgiving day our cleaning service charges an extra holiday cleaning fee of $75.
