A short drive to best surfing and kiteboarding in Maui. Best place to start your adventure on the "Road To Hana" or just take 20 min drive to waterfalls and rainforest country. Paia has recently been nominated as the "Happiest beach town in America" by Coastal Living. It is by far the coolest town on Maui with it's organic eateries & market, yoga studios, hip boutiques, and surf shops. Looking forward to hosting your stay Aloha, Dave & Nyla Mangolani Inn Hawaii Tax # TA-011-684-2496-01 We are always around and able to answer any questions or there will be a property manager to assist if we are away. Paia is by far the coolest beach town in Maui! You will feel less like a tourist and live a more local lifestyle here. The town is full of many eclectic people. Yogi's, big wave surfers, wind sports athletes, hippies, expats, tourists passing through and local Hawaiians give this town a global village feel. Having a rental car is best however you can get by without and the property is less than a mile from town and beaches. Most guests prefer to walk down the hill to Paia as parking spots in town can hard to find. Being centrally located you can drive to most anywhere on island is less than an hour. Our property is conveniently only a 10 drive to the airport. The best starting point for a drive down the "Road to Hana" is Paia as it's the last stop to buy gas and supplies before embarking on the 2 hour drive. Paia was once a sugar plantation town but now that the mill has closed down the old storefronts have been repurposed keeping the old Hawaii charm in tact. There are no mega resorts or chain stores in Paia. Just unique one of a kind mom and pop style businesses that you won't find anywhere else on island. It's one of the last places on island that hasn't been commercialized by big money interests.
