Waipiʻo Lodge - Kalo Room

Waipiʻo Lodge is located in a quaint village less than a mile from Waipiʻo Valley. This is the old Hawaiʻi. You'll enjoy a wonderful ocean view and many fruit and macadamia nut trees on the property. We enjoy the best weather on the island… just perfect! It’s also a central location for exploring the Hilo and Kona sides of the island. Just 10 minutes away is the lovely town of Honokaʻa, with farmers markets, antique shops, restaurants, and the coolest old movie theater in the world. The space Our three guest rooms are nicely decorated, clean, with comfortable beds. Guests share a bathroom, outdoor patio and living room with high speed Wi-Fi, couches, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Guests may pick ripe fruit from the yard. We usually have all the fruit you can eat! (Tangerines, macadamia nuts, guava, bananas…) Our guests tend to be excellent company, usually visiting from Europe, the US Mainland, Asia, Australia and beyond. The Waipʻo Lodge Kalo Room is the coolest room in the house. Its windows allow the mountain breeze to flow through, but no direct sunlight. The house itself is an authentic “plantation home” built in 1922 and oozing with character. These walls have stories to tell! My wife and I live upstairs with our 3 children as your hosts. So the disclaimer is: you can sometimes hear small footsteps from upstairs.
