Rental Cars: Most of the major car rental companies are located at the Kahului airport in Maui. For a more affordable option look for a rental agency located offsite from the airport (i.e. No Ka Oi Motors). Most provide free pickup and delivery at the airport. Note: In either case, when picking up a map, tell the car rental company that you want directions to Wailea (Kihei will be on that route). Public Transit: Maui Public Bus Transit System provides 13 bus routes around the island seven days a week, including all holidays. The fare is $2.00 per boarding. The Upcountry and Haiku Islander routes stop at the Kahului Airport. From there, a transfer to the Kihei Islander will bring you to Kamaole Beach. One piece of luggage is allowed per person and must fit under the passenger seat or on lap.
