The space We are located in wonderful, uniquely diverse, gorgeous, historic North Kohala on the Big Island of Hawaii. We have connected two of our comfortable units to allow families and friends to share memorable moments, Hawaiian Country style. Our charming two story Suite includes our spacious Sundeck Room, King and 2 queen beds; our Cozy Bedroom,"Adventurer's Hideaway"king bed; private entrances, two bathrooms, and the garden view kitchen with a good sized fridge and small appliances to prepare meals. Guests may use our barbecue as well. We have awesome restaurants and cafes nearby..most close the kitchen by 8pm..or earlier. There are spectacular views and a large Sundeck for families to enjoy our tropical gardens, pastures, large white terns, adorable goat herd, and the sunset over the island of Maui across the sea. Birds will sing "Aloha Kakahiaka" in the mornings from the nearby trees. There is ample space for parking near our basketball court. Ping pong tables are available for family tournaments. We have a cold water washing machine and a clothesline, my personal hot water washer and dryer available if needed.( We usually have lots of sun!) We are in lovely rural Hawaii Island,"off the beaten track", but we have just been able to upgrade our internet via satellite. We offer free Wifi..high speed broadband....great for people working, studying online. North Kohala is a jewel and we feel so blessed to live here and share our "treasures". The prices show that we are in a very coveted area. You can find less expensive and more expensive to stay, but we are very fair with our charges based on our expenses. Try to book us early, but last minute, if there is availability, might get you a special deal! We do our best to spread ALOHA! Guest access Guests enjoy our gardens and spacious grounds, basketball court and ping pong tables.. All rooms have private entrances. Kitchen has a variety of small appliances, good-sized refrigerator, sink, food prep area, dining; Hawaii doesn't permit a regular stove, so we have good cooktops, toaster ovens and will try to provide what you need. Main house oven is available upon request.Guests have access to doing their own laundry..we usually hang clothes for the sun to dry. I have a dryer in my home if guests need to use it or have me assist them by doing some laundry for a small charge. There is a common area for barbecue use. We live on a wonderful country road where you can walk or jog. There is a very fine park just 1/3rd mile downhill with playground, tennis, swimming pool, basketball courts, golf..even clubs ..very reasonable! Just being in North Kohala is a vacation "away from it all" Other things to note Hawaii Guesthouse Taxes: 17.962% (10.25% TAT ; 4.712% GET; 3% County tax)License TAT-058-667-8272-01. GE -58-667-8272-02 which we will ask for when you arrive. You can pay the Hawaii Hotel Tax through Airbnb Resolutions. We will let you know the tax amount when the bill is finalized.. For longer than weekly stays, there will be additional cleaning charges and possibly a rug cleaning charge.Mahalo.. ******The standard $140 cleaning fees for the Sundeck and the $90 for the Cozy are valid for up to a one week rental. Additional cleaning fees at a rate of $ 90 per week will be added for longer stays and based on number of days and number of people. This additional fee will be due with the Hawaii Tax and due on arrival.******Mahalo. Our climate is usually awesome..not hot..may have some wind and rain..close to mountains and dessert areas.We have a friendly "super market" 2 miles away, Takata Store, where you can buy just about anything, two "Mom and Pop grocery stores, Plantation Market and Arakaki, varied treats Kohala Grown; excellent food at Kohala Coffee Mill, Bamboo Restaurant,Rainbow Cafe , Pomaikai Cafe, Minnies, Gills'Lanai, King's View Cafe, and more! Visit lots of excellent boutiques and galleries for woodworking, crafts, jewelry and fine art. Waimea is a beautiful 30-40 minutes drive where you will find larger shopping centers. Kailua Kona, an hour's drive is now a "big town" with Costco and everything else. Driving anywhere from North Kohala is a scenic pleasure, not just a trip! From mid December to mid April you should even see our precious humpback whales along our nearby coast ! In cases where Bobi agrees. on Airbnb messages for stays, usually at the last minute, for less than a 3 night stay, there will be an appropriate extra charge.
