Our farm is close to parks, art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, and within a few miles of the beach. You’ll love staying at the farm because of the coziness, the views, the location, and the people. The Farm is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with-out kids), and anyone just seeking to experience North Kohala. If you'd like to get your hands into the soil we certainly are grateful for those who enjoy getting into the soil and nature of things. This is an Ohana inside the main Farmhouse. It is beautifully decorated and has a pseudo-kitchen (No sink however) with a toaster/baking oven, a propane cooktop that can sear or be used as a burner for pots and pans. There is an induction burner, coffee maker, fridge and freezer. The only place to wash these dishes is not the prettiest of places or as close as we might like. There are dogs on the property to help us manage the wild that invites themselves onto the property. These dogs reside inside the dwelling at night. This does produce sound that can be disturbing to the solace of this space. This room IS IN THE MAIN HOUSE! We live in the main house and there is much traffic, cooking of meals, conversation as well as the many smells of a kitchen, cleaning, washer and dryer, and the dogs. NOISE DOES TRANSMIT INTO THIS SPACE!!!!! If you are seeking complete serenity, quiet, and calm, then one of our other units would better suit you! There is a walk-in handicap shower (no rails however), television (Spectrum cable), and exceedingly fast internet. There is a private entrance and the parking is right at the door practically. The lanai hosts a café table for eating, and the preparation area for cooking. All the accessories for preparation are present, dishes, cutlery, etc. This space is ideal for the person on the go that really just desires a spot to fix something quick and get back out to the beautiful nature of our island and come back and rest and relax for the next days adventures. You have full access to your room, the lanai, and all of the grounds. Feel free to walk about, check out the orchard of varied fruit trees, or just sit in the solace of the coconut tree fronds swaying to the breeze. There are occasional chairs set about the property in places where people choose to sit and meditate or just listen to nature. Staff is available 7 days a week from 6 am to 9 pm to assist with any needs or to answer questions. The best way to see where we are and how we live is to search Hawi, Hawaii. Eateries within walking distance: Kohala Koffee Mill, Bamboo restaurant and bar, Sushi Rocks restaurant, Local Dish restaurant, Mi Ranchito Mexican restaurant, Kava Bar and Café, Kohala Fudge and Ice Cream Parlor, Hub Pub and Grill... There is some (barely) public transportation. Kona airport is closest and has rental cars. (The airport is approx. 63 miles away!) There is no transportation services provided from our farm however, we are within walking distance of downtown Hawi, the Farmer's Market, Kohala Zipline, and many other interesting locations and adventures. This is a working farm. There are live chickens and roosters both on this property as well as feral to the island. Roosters crow. We have other working farms in the area and many begin their days at 7 am. There are three farm dogs that assist with duties on the farm and around the residences. Please do not feed these dogs. (Friendly -- Super Friendly!) We do not allow hunting on this property. We do not allow cigarette smoking on this property. (Please note rules!) No guest may operate Farm equipment and guests using equipment will be asked to leave without refund! It rains in Hawaii and guests should be prepared for heavy sudden downpours and the forthcoming mud that insists on sticking to the shoes. We ask that you do not wear your shoes inside to aid with keeping the room pristine as possible. This room has air conditioning that is part of the main house system. We keep the house at 78 for everyone's comfort and provide a ceiling fan when that's still too uncomfortable to sleep. There is constantly repairs being made to the buildings or residences and that noise may transmit during the day. Farm hours here are 8 -6 daily.
