The space The open floor plan allows for ocean breezes and a comfortable temperature. Every room has recently been carpeted, painted with a general renovation throughout the property. The new granite countertops in the kitchen and bathroom add a touch of luxury along with the newly added fixtures. We, the owners, live here except when we travel. Dur to Covid we haven't traveled so we directed our energy to making our home more beautiful. And, it shows! We are so happy to be able to share Kohala Kai Garden, again. Although the interior of the property is lovely, we spend most of our time outdoors. Hawaiian coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night is centered around one of the many sitting areas under the covered lanais. The tranquility of the environment will bring an immediate sense of ease and comfort. Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire grounds picking various herbs, vegetables, mangos, limes and tangerines (in season) and enjoying the fragrant pikake and plumeria. Kohala Kai Gardens is located just north of Kawaihae Harbor and a short 10 minute drive to 3 of the islands best beaches, Hapuna, Waialea and Mauna Kea. You can enjoy world famous golf courses, tennis, and oceanfront fine dining at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel or Hapuna Prince Beach Hotel or a 10 minute drive south will bring you to Mauna Lani and Waikoloa Beach resorts offering more white sandy beaches, shopping, golf, and dining. The whale watching is incredible during whale season. If your pleasure is just gazing at the ocean, this light and airy home with an expansive lanai is just the place for you. The lanai is equipped with lounge chairs and dining, a great place to daydream, read a book or enjoy a meal. One of the highlights of the property is stepping into the spacious tropical outdoor shower complete with a sitting area and hammock nestled among the ti leaves. The living room offers plenty of room to relax, prepare meals and dine. The kitchen is fully furnished and equipped with all new appliances. The en-suite Master Bedroom with ocean views has a king size bed and walk-in closet. The bedroom is furnished island style with a very comfortable bed and quality linens. The sliding doors lead onto the private ocean view front lanai. Should you need an extra breeze, each room has a ceiling fan. The master bath has been completely remodeled with a tiled walk-in shower and updated fixtures. The towels are soft Turkish cotton. Wifi is complimentary throughout the home. The living area has a 42" Smart TV for entertainment when you are not busy exploring the island. We also supply all necessary beach equipment, including chairs, umbrellas, coolers and beach towels. Kawaihae Harbor, 5 minutes away by car, offers multiple dining opportunities, including a local Tiki Bar perfect for Happy Hour. There are a number of choices including a fresh fish market, and several restaurant. You can depart on a dive, snorkel, sport fishing or whale watch adventure with our fantastic local operators in the harbor. After a full day of activity you will enjoy returning to Kohala Kai Gardens to relax in comfort and enjoy the beauty of the ocean and mountains.
