"The Cockpit" is a freshly restored historic cottage built in 1899 on a oneway-shelled street with very little traffic. The house has a lovingly tended garden, a front porch, a spacious outdoor shower, and off-street parking. It is just a short walk to Siasconset village, where the Sconset Market and nearby restaurants are situated. Just a three-minute walk to a private beach entrance! Three bedrooms, full kitchen, living room, front covered porch, brick patio with table an umbrella. The space Come and relax in this quaint and adorable cottage, ideally located in 'Sconset on the far eastern side of Nantucket. The cottage has three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a kitchen with the most beautiful appliances, including Sub Zero refrigerator drawers, a Wolf gas range, and an English Shaw sink. We also have a blender, Kitchenaid mixer, and other gourmet cooking equipment so that you can enjoy a nice meal at home. That said, we are also a short walking distance from all of the restaurants in 'Sconset and a 7-mile bus or car ride to Nantucket. There is a cable TVs in the living room and wireless internet throughout the property. We have a washer and dryer and an outdoor clothesline to dry your clothes with the fresh Nantucket air! Our outdoor shower is also beautiful and features an antique soapstone sink—just right for washing off a fish if you are lucky enough to catch one! We also have a grill that you are welcome to use and an outdoor dining area for six people. There is enough space for two vehicles in the driveway. Finally, there's no better way to start your day than on our little front porch with a hot cup and a fresh sea breeze! Guest access - Guests have access to the entire house, yard, and garage. The garage holds beach equipment, trash, and incidental storage for guests in the front of the garage. - The owner and her representative may need to tend to the property during your stay. This includes gardeners, cleaners, twice-weekly rubbish pick-up, and recycling pick-up. They will quietly access the garage and owner's shed. Please leave space in the driveway for garage door to fully open. Other things to note Please read this and let us know if you agree via the Airbnb Thread. - No smoking anything on or on the property - Quiet Hours: 10 pm to 8 am - We can not host your or other's animals on this property. We are an animal-free rental. - Shared spaces are the garage. Caution: items may shift and fall. - Let us know if you are leaving the island. We will inform our caretaker in case of any weather. - Comcast/Exfinity is our internet provider. We have limited cable stations. If the internet goes down, I am notified via the app and can reset it. Please, reach out if something seems off. Trash and Recyclable Sorting - This is critical on the island. If our cleaners and trash removal team have to touch your trash, you will be charged. - All trash and recycling need to be sorted and placed in clear plastic bags. No loose trash is to be thrown in the trash bins. Plastic bags need to be tied. There are a few copies of directions on how Nantucket requires us to sorts the compostable, non compostable trash and the recycling rules. I have put some bins in the garage to help store your cleaned glass, tin, plastics and broken down cardboard. Everything needs to go in clear plastic bags, tied and placed in green barrels at the end of your stay. ( it often seems like a waste of plastic) - No Subleasing or leaving children /guests under 30 unsupervised.
