Denise’s seaside penthouse

Gorgeous furnished flat 850 square feet, with view of ocean and jungle. Only steps to swim at the beach park where turtles come. Lovely Trade winds, sunny and airy. A queen bed in huge screened lanai 13 x 29 feet. Another screened lanai with queen bed and ocean view. All amenities. The space This is my home. I rent my upstairs flat when I am travelling. It is open and bright and airy and totally screened in with two lanais, one 29x13 ft. facing the jungle, and the other smaller facing the sea. Compact kitchen with gas stove, also air fryer convection countertop oven, Vitamix blender, dishwasher, coffee maker, electric kettle, and new large refrigerator with freezer. Living room has comfortable recliner chair and couch and 42 inch TV. Several hardwood carved chest of drawers and two night stands with drawers add beauty and give space for your clothes in the bedroom and an armoire for hanging clothes. There is a large tiled shower in the bathroom and an outdoor shower off of driveway to get the sand off from beaching it. There is a vanity counter, toilet and large shower in the bath room along with the fridge. The one sink is in the kitchen. See photos. I have an electric insect zapper you can turn on in the evenings for mosquitos and other flying insects. Everything is screened but some insects still get in especially the nights when the flying termites are about. You can use the provided mosquito nets if necessary at night if you want. I find I do not need to. Occasionally a flying cockroach gets in. I have organic roach killer under the sink which also kills ants if you put it along the borders of the countertop. This is the tropics so be prepared for a few insects here and there. The only one with a bad sting is the centipede so when out and about they may appear. We do not have snakes. There are two apartments below you with two tenants in one and one in the other. They are quiet and appreciate it if you are too. Guest access The whole flat located up 27 stairs is yours except for one closet. There is a washer and solar dryer (clothesline) you can use at back of house, ground floor. Two levels below you with quiet neighbors. Sounds of the night are the gentle trade winds blowing in the palms and the surf and the coqui tree frogs loud chirping. If you have a car, parking is in the carport. There is a bus line only a block away to downtown Hilo and around to shopping centers, airport, etc. Runs hourly till evening. Schedule available in the info book in the flat. You can bus it around the Island! Mooheau Bus Station downtown Hilo will give all information. Also Taxis are available, as is Uber and Lyft. Other things to note Swimming is great at the park steps away. And there are often turtles seen so close it can be startling. Wonderful snorkling and surfing at Richardson Beach just a couple of miles down the road; bus goes there hourly. Beach parks all along the coast from my house to the end of the road around 3 miles. Gardens in the front and back. The down stairs neighbors have a barbecue but I do. not. The flat is 3 miles from downtown Hilo. The Volcano National Park is 29 miles "mauka". ( Hawaian word for towards the mountain vs "makai" towards the sea). Akaka falls is a visited site, thirteen miles from Hilo. It is all beautiful, and I have left brochures for you to view.
