Light, airy master bedroom in the upper level of a charming plantation style cottage located right at the heart of downtown Hilo. Enjoy glimpses of tree tops and our tropical garden courtyard. Relax to the sound of a water feature of our Koi pond. This bedroom has a deluxe California King futon and affords guests privacy because it is separate from the main floor of the home. The bathroom is located on the lower floor and is shared with guests from one other room. The space This two bedroom home is set in a lush tropical garden featuring large trees, flowering plants and garden statues. A compact staircase from first level leads up to the Attic bedroom. From here you can see garden tree tops and glimpses of Hilo Bay. This bedroom makes a great romantic retreat for a couple. There is a deluxe (comfortable) California King futon mattress and 100% cotton linens. Downstairs there is a tiled bathroom with shower & bathtub, kitchen with refrigerator and basic utensils and condiments. Guests are welcome to explore our garden and find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy tropical beauty. Hosts Megan and Jasper live on the property and so help is nearby for our guests. Gas cook top plus a fridge. Bathroom: tiled shower/tub & toilet - shared with guests from one other room, dining table & also Lanai (porch) for sitting, relaxing. Wifi provided. During your stay We love making our guests feel welcome. Guests are free to have as much contact as they like with us and we are always happy to provide suggestions for places to eat, places to see and some of the rarer and more special places to visit while on the island. Other things to note Please note that with our Downtown location, with the benefits as mentioned, sometimes guests hear background street noise. Additionally a small tropical tree frog species arrived on the island around 20 years ago and creates an ambient night noise similar to bird song. These are the famous 'coqui frogs' of Hawaii .
