This bright, clean, charming studio on the second floor of a large house is perfect for guests who are dog-lovers, health-conscious, sustainable of the environment, respectful of the Island culture, caring for native peoples, plant based, non-smokers and eco-friendly. Plus, there is very strong wi-fi to work from home. Your studio was recently renovated in late 2023, new flooring, bathroom fixtures, tiling and paint. The full-size bed is natural latex, with 100% cotton sheets and a large walk-in closet. Private bathroom with shower comes with organic bath soap. All rooms are cleaned with eco-friendly and cleaning products. Windows on three sides allow in ocean breezes from the south, east and west exposures of your room with a view of Pearl Harbor, the Wai`anae Range and the sunset. Birds, sunrise and dogs may provide your natural wake-up call. There is a full kitchen (preferably vegan cooking), island and living room available for your use (shared space), high speed Wi-Fi internet, yoga mats for your morning stretches, and a park 10 minutes away. A washer and dryer is available on site from 8am to 10pm. An overhead fan in the living room is intended for your use, but must be turned off when leaving. There is an A/C in the bedroom to be used when the windows and door are closed. Also, the A/C is to be turned off when not in the space to conserve energy for the Island. This apartment is in a very safe, community-based and quiet neighborhood. This is not a party house. All State and City COVID rules are followed, and we ask people to be fully vaccinated or have had COVID for the safety of all guests and the Island `āina (land). Guests must clean up in the kitchen after every meal preparation. If there are any meat or fish waste product, please bag them tightly and place in the freezer until Monday night, then place downstairs in the grey bin. Ants, roaches and flies are a common occurrence in this tropical paradise. Therefore, any claim for bugs that are found on site will not be valid for a refund, and it's not related to a lack of cleaning. This is being disclosed before you book. The water heater is solar powered, which means the hot water works best on hot, sunny days. When itʻs rainy and cloudy, the water may not be super hot, despite the manual override. Again, in 80 degree weather, this is not an issue for most, but please consider this when booking, as this is being fully disclosed. The toilets will explode if anything other than toilet paper is flushed. Hair catches are installed in the shower to prevent the drains from being clogged. All sand must be removed before entering the space. E mālama pono this space, as this is a long-term rental, the unit must be cleaned even better than when you arrived. The cleaning fee is for supplies and wear and tear. We are not a hotel. You are responsible for keeping the space clean and bug-free. Monthly exterminator service is also employed. Ample street parking. Shared kitchen and living room are available for your use. Paper plates and utensils may be used for health reasons. When using other dishware, please be sure to clean well with lots of soap, hot water and muscle. Also, when throwing out trash, food must be cleaned from all receptacles. Otherwise, bugs will be attracted. Trash should be placed downstairs in plastic bags, tied tightly, at least every other day, into the grey bins. Please note that you will have to go up a 12-step stairway to get to the second floor. So, this space is not recommended for people with physical issues going up or down stairs and no smokers allowed. Your host is a professionally-trained Broadway dancer, a NYC Yamuna certified body rolling and yoga instructor whose goal is to better the world through conscious living. She is happy to give you tips on places to visit, to give private wellness sessions and to help you make the most of your trip in paradise. This apartment is centrally located on Oahu, making it the perfect place to consciously explore the entire island. Usually, without traffic, the space is 10 minutes from the Honolulu Airport, 15 minutes to downtown Honolulu, 25 minutes to Waikiki, 20 minutes to Kailua and 45 minutes to the North Shore. Relax or work from this airy space, while maintaining a close relationship with the `āina (land). You'll also be close to nearby historic and local sites: *Pearl Harbor Arizona Memorial *'Aiea He'iau Loop Trail Hike (a Hawaiian medicinal hei'au with a beginner-friendly hike and incredible views) *Aloha Stadium Swap Meet (Hawaii's premiere outdoor market, on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday) *Pearlridge Mall with a Saturday Farmer's Market *Aiea Park with a local Friday Morning Farmer's Market, basketball and running tracks ***Only non-smoking guests who have been vaccinated (including booster) may stay with us. If you are a smoker and do not believe in Covid-19, please stay elsewhere*** - There is a pet rooster next door that adds to the rustic feel, plus a number of dogs nearby. - `Aiea is located in the center of the Island, allowing for explorations in a timely manner, depending on traffic. - There are illegal fireworks that are often exploded from time to time. This is an Island-wide occurrence, especially on New Yearʻs eve, July 4th and at the end of football games. However, they can happen at any time. Mature papaya, lemon and orange trees on the property may provide seasonal fresh fruits. (Please notify your host if you'd like some fruits to be picked for you.) Fragrant local flowers, Pua Keni Keni or the Perfume Flowering Tree, white Ginger and Jasmine-Pikake vine also bloom nearly year-round. Desert Rose also grows in abundance here providing pink accents in the garden. LYFT and UBER are easily accessible. The Bus stop is just down a small hill from the house. Note that O'ahu is better with a car. We also offer a 2014 silver Prius available for rent at $45 a day, please inquire. The Bus system is efficient, but, requires more travel time than a car (although everyone does get stuck in traffic in Hawai'i). And, there’s plenty of street parking nearby. The plumbing in the house is very fragile and will explode if anything other than toilet paper is used in the toilet. Sand should be removed outside with a hose. The hair catch in the drains should be used and hair removed, thank you. Newly renovated floors, bathroom, and paint, autumn 2023. In-house spa amenities available (extra fee): -Private Yoga lessons -Longboard and 8ʻ soft top surfboard available for surf rentals -Yamuna Body Logic/Ball Rolling Therapy
