The flight time is 10 minutes compared to the 2 hour boat ride, which is usually a better experience for those who experience seasickness, and the price is comparable. Whale watching tours depart from Cape Town, Plymouth and Hyannis. Book in advance. The New Bedford Whaling Museum is a 30-minute drive from Falmouth and is a great place to visit on a rainy day.
