Traditional modest Cape style home located on a quiet street on the scenic Southcoast of MA with a minimalist homey feel for your stay. Expansive outdoor deck where you can enjoy your stay with privacy and peace and green space for the little ones to run and play in a safe neighborhood. Charming small town village appeal surrounded by the ocean with ferry access to the Vineyard and Nantucket and new rail transport to Boston, from nearby historic New Bedford MA. No smoking/vaping/parties/events. The space Fairhaven- the name says it all! Please review all pictures to make sure the house will work for you. The detached garage is not part of the rental. Access to the garage is not permitted. Same beaches as Cape Cod without the prices and all that traffic! All guests to be disclosed at reservation request. Please be prepared to add all guests to your reservation. Last names and genders are not needed. No smoking/vaping anywhere in the house is prohibited For summer guests a transferable beach pass to the resident only Town Beach ( West Island) has been obtained. It belongs to the house. You may use it anytime during your stay but it MUST remain in the home when you depart. If it is not in the house upon your departure you will be charged to replace it ($210) via the resolution center. This is first item the cleaners look for due the popularity of the resident beach. It is not required at any other beach including Fort Phoenix or New Bedford beaches which are all public beaches External audio/video recording security cameras- back door facing driveway, front door and front of garage facing street. Will try to be pet friendly again ( dogs only) but your pet must be crated in the house. Aggresive breeds as defined by the state of MA- Rots, Pits and German Shepherds are not allowed by my insurance company. Please be aware the dogs cannot be left alone in the house and dogs are not allowed at the town beach ( West Island). You are responsible to clean up your dogs waste and dispose of properly ( not down the toilet). Again, the pet cannot be left alone in the house. They are vacation too so let them enjoy their vacaton with you. The town has strict leash laws so if your pet is off leash it can be picked up by animal control and the guest is responsible to pay fees and fines to get your pet back. If your off leash or uncontrolled pet attacks any person or other domestic animal, you the guest, are responsible for any bills incurred by the victim for any injuries to a person or domestic animal. This is a family owned home since 1962 with a minimalist style and modest furnishings. Nothing high end that will make a responsible guest worry about sitting on, sleeping in or touching that would break. The house holds wonderful memories of families raised and we would like you to create your own memories here too. Please share them in the guest book! The area offers beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean and/or Buzzards Bay. Per Airbnb guest responsibility the guest is to notify the host of any issues within 24 hours of arrival. Travel insurance is highly recommended as refunds are not provided for weather, travel interuptions, illness or injury prior to arrival. Airbnb does not provide travel insurance but does provide travel insurance info upon booking and in your confirmation email with links for travel insurance. Classic Massachusetts Cape. 3 BR upstairs. 1 downstairs BR 1 has 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds, storage and walk in closet BR 2 has a queen bed, storage and closet BR 3 has 2 twin beds and storage BR 4 has 2 double beds, storage and closet Living room has a pull out sofa Dining table that can seat 6 comfortably but there are 6 additional chairs if needed. Large deck with tables and ample seating for late spring & summer stays. Propane grill supplied. Cleaners do not clean the grill. It is the guest responsibility to clean after use. Cleaning tools are provided. For the outdoor seating there are cleaning products provided for you to clean prior to your use. For summer spring/summer/early fall guests- AC window units in all bedrooms for your comfort Mosquito repellant is not provided by the host. The yard is sprayed every other week with a non carcinogenic treatment by a local mosquito and tick mitigation company. It is not harmful to people or pets but again you need to bring your own repellant The area is also sprayed for mosquitos by Bristol County Mosquito control on their schedule based on their contract with the Town. Any spraying is done overnight weather permitting Beach towels are provided so please do not bring house bath towels, sheets, blankets or pillows to the beach as they are not appropriate for the beach. Do not bring beach wet, sandy towels in the house. Let them dry out on the deck Please protect the environment and do not leave any litter at the beach. Bring it back to the house and place it in the trash. West Island ( Town Beach) is a resident only beach just 5 minutes away but a beach pass is included in your stay. Just do no lose or take the beach pass home with you or you will be charged $210 to replace it. Historic Fort Phoenix State Beach 5 minutes away in the center of town. There is also East and West Beach in New Bedford which takes about 15 minutes to get to. Traveling to the Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket or Cuttyhunk? Ferry parking to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket and Cuttyhunk is 15 minutes away with shuttles to the ferry. Cape Air also flies to the Islands from the New Bedford Regional Airport 30 minutes to Whale watching excursions in historic Plymouth MA or visit the Plimouth Patuxet Museum ( formerly Plimouth Plantation) & see the Mayflower replica and how the Pilgrims lived. 25 minutes to Cape Cod, 30 minutes to Providence/ Newport RI and 60 minutes to Boston. Water Wizz water park located 20 minutes away in Wareham MA. ( Summer only) Guest access Entire home available but not the detached garage. All guests to be disclosed at reservation request. No smoking/vaping/ undisclosed pets. The detached garage is not for guests so please do not enter the garage Driveway can park 3 cars. Ample free street parking is also available. Lawn parking is not allowed. I would not park on your lawn, please do not park on mine. Park on the side of the street the house is on. If you park across the street from the house December 1- March 31 you will be ticketed or towed by police per town snow removal bylaws. Does not matter if there is snow or not. Host is not responsible for your tickets or towing. Do not park on the neighbor's lawns or block neighbor's driveways or you could be ticketed/ towed at your expense. Other things to note Per state of Massachusetts there is a nightly tax for short term rentals, currently 5.7% DOR registration number C0101100940. County tax is 6%, Town of Fairhaven 3% community fee. This is collected by Airbnb, not the host. I do not like the taxes either but they go to the state, county and town, not the host. It is not harmful to people or pets but again you need to bring your own repellant No glitter/sparkles- additional $250 cleaning fee for evidence of sparkles- they tend to end up everywhere. Sand belongs at the beach and not brought into the house. Dry out your shoes, clothes, towels outside and give them a shake before coming in. Make sure you bring mosquito repellant as it is not supplied by owner. Beach towels are provided. Please do not bring wet, sandy towels in the house. There is a towel rack on the deck to hang towels and bathing suits to dry out. Ring light camera on front of garage facing street & ring doorbell at back door facing driveway and ring camera on front door faces street. All record audio and video 24/7. Tampering with the cameras including removal, attempt to remove, destroying or covering them up will cause immediate cancelation of your stay without refund. 1 pet per reservation. $350 fine for evidence of non-disclosed pets Service animals are not considered pets per ADA, but must under the control of the owner at all times, indoors or outdoors. The town of Fairhaven has strict leash laws and if the animal is picked up by Animal Control the animal's owner will need to provide proof of vaccinations and pay a fine to have the prior to the animal being returned. No smoking/vaping indoors! Take that activity outside! $350 fee for removal of smoke odors! Just smoke outside but don't use the yard or deck as an ashtray. Get yourself a disposable cup and use as your ashtray. This includes MJ. Once the butts are safely extinguished just place them in the outside trash bin. Please do not smoke in front of the sunroom door or open windows so smoke odors do not go in the home Babies and toddlers are welcome but please be aware that the house is not baby/child proof. The driveway is free to park in. For street parking please park in front of the house with your vehicle facing east( away from the beach) towards Sconticut Neck Rd. Street parking is free but you can get ticketed for parking across the street December thru March ( town bylaw for snow removal and it does not matter if there is snow or not) Do not park on the grass or the neighbor's grass or block neighbor's driveways. The property abuts a large treed lot and you may run across some wildlife- rabbits, deer, turkeys, oppossum, raccoon, field mouse, even a garter snake ( they have no fangs and are non-venoumous). Placing any garbage/recycling in the appropriate bins outside with the lids closed will help prevent them from having a food source. You may encounter lady bugs, raccoons, deer, opposums, deer, garter snakes ( they will not bite you and have no venom) stink bugs ( no, they do not stink or sting), bunny rabbits or an occasional ant or mouse. The property is treated by scheduled pest control but if you have continuous issues please contact the host. You will be surrounded by forest and fields so Mother Nature's creatures are inevitable. Keep outdoor trash and recycle bins closed. Note... a neighbor behind the property runs a mooring business, he has many items in his yard. It is not disruptive but it is visible from the deck. Check out is 10am, unless additional time has been requested and approved in advance, to allow cleaners to maintain their schedule. Fee of 2 times nightly rate will be imposed for late check out. Please communicate with me in advance if you need a later departure time and will try to meet your request.
