Even if it's quiet, you can still experience her splendor. hike rainforests, snorkel, swim with turtles. Explore our gorgeous new black sand beaches minutes away, & enjoy all that The Big Island has to offer! No chores required! The space We offer a one bedroom suite complete with a private bathroom (not one, but two outdoor showers!) a lanai, small kitchen, dining area as well as hot tub and pool. Our retreat is perfect for those wanting to unwind and enjoy the Hawaiian tropics. The spectacular views from the bedroom, lanai, kitchen and dining area will delight you as you relax steps away from the tiled in ground pool. Venture in for a swim, lounge in the pool, bask under the sun on comfy lounge chairs. Escape to the umbrellas when you've had enough sun. Our grounds offer tropical plantings of ti, hibuscus, bamboo, helconia, ohia, ferns, orchids, a variety of palms, night blooming jasmine, puakenikeni for you to enjoy. Play a game of lawn dice, or bbq in your own lava-rock fire pit. Or - head out and enjoy the wonderful Kalapana Coast. From refreshing ocean swims minutes away at Kehena Beach, to unforgettable hikes and awe inspiring gasps of new land and unsurpassed star gazing, it's all here for you. The bedroom offers a comfy, high-end queen mattress, dresser, TV and adjoining bathroom. Relax on the double futon couch on the lanai, just outside the bedroom. This can also be made into a second bed. We offer L'Occitane bath products as well as comfy, thick spa robes. We do not have live TV in our area but you can access your movie options, and of course free, fast Wifi. We want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and have taken care of most, if not all, of the details. Please Note: We put up a very low fence around some of the pool to keep our four legged princess safe. It is unobtrusive and chances are you will not even see it. Guest access You enter in through our front gate, gazing at the koi pond as you wander over to your section of the property. As you can see from the pictures, the layout is separate buildings comprising a fully functional home. We have an in ground pool, that is shared with the owners (we won't go swimming while you are here, but may swim while you are out.) We have utilized plant barriers to increase privacy. There is an expansive lawn area and the hot tub is only steps from the pool and second outdoor shower. We are happy to assist you in any way and make your stay more memorable. We can give you referrals for great activities to do in the area. Guide books and local information are on site. If you would like a massage during your stay, we can give you contact info to schedule one on premises. Please note- they do book up, so best to schedule well in advance. Acupuncture treatments are available on site as well. Since this is our sanctuary, we like to keep it private and peaceful, so we ask that only your party be on the property, no other guests please. Also, we do not allow babies or small children for safety reasons as there is not a fence around the pool. Thank you for understanding. Other things to note This is an outdoorsy tropical place, nature and wildlife are all around - we have sightings of hawks, owls, cardinals, golden finches, mourning doves etc. We also have symphony of geckos and frogs, which we find quite delightful. We are equipped with mosquito nets, but they are seldom used. If you are sensitive, we offer mosquito repellant and citronella incense. But our breezes usually keep the air pretty comfortable. We have two rescue cats, Peanut and Butters, that you may see frolicking in the yard. They are friendly, independent and stay outdoors. Our little dog, Nalah, will let us know you’re here. She is happy to welcome you from our lanai. Our grounds are professionally maintained and our yard folks may come and do their thing during your stay. They text us the night before and we will certainly let you know. Our neighbor occassionally plays live music in the late afternoon. I find the music catchy. NOTE: with Airbnb’s new all inclusive pricing policy, we adjusted our rates to include our required tax obligation of 17.75%. Our property is very special to us, and we do read reviews.
