There are several outdoor recreational activities in the area including hiking, fishing, boating, and skiing in the winter at Big Mountain in Whitefish and in Fernie BC Canada - each about 45 minutes away. We are located in northwest Montana in the Kootenai National Forest, about 45 minutes north of Whitefish and one hour from Glacier National Park! Guests are welcome in the shared spaces: living room, dining room, sunroom and limited use in the kitchen, (hot water maker for tea and coffee and space in the refrigerator for items that need cooler storage). We interact with our guests as much or little as they enjoy. We do live on the premises but are very often working outside or busy playing! Our neighborhood is quiet and private. While we do have neighbors, we are surrounded by the Kootenai National Forest, so we have wildlife! The deer go from neighbor to neighbor! There is no public transit you must have a car!
