Hale M has been in our family for generations. This is not a generic rental, but an authentic family beach house with many unique features and momentos. We hope you will form your own treasured memories here as we have over the years. Everything works, but may not be brand new. Surf boards, chairs, life jackets, croquet are provided. If functional-rustic is your style then this is your beach house! TA License:165-049-3440-01 Hale M is a classic beach cottage, not fancy, but great place to relax and access the island of O'ahu. The house consists of a central 'great room' with 15' ceilings and a view of the ocean. Two of the three bedrooms have wonderful ocean front views with window nooks in which to sit and read or just relax. We have a large covered deck on the leeward side where guests can relax out of the prevailing trade wind and dine or lounge. There is a smaller ocean front deck with picnic table and chairs for additional al fresco dining. There is a full bathroom and half bath in the house. We also have a wonderful outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Soft surf boards, boogie boards, beach chairs, life jackets, and some snorkeling gear is provided. We just ask that guest be aware of water safety and use good judgement when in the ocean. There are croquet and bocce sets for tournaments in the yard. We describe Hale M as Rustic and functional. Everything works, but may not be brand new. The sheets don't match, the towels don't match, the dishes don't match: but the sheets are all cotton, the towels are plentiful and the dishes are china. We provide all the kitchen and cooking equipment you will need: coffee maker, rice cooker, microwave, electric wok, electric pancake griddle, blender, Weber Kettle Barbecue with charcoal chimney, etc. You will find a selection of condiments and staples in the house. Please feel free to eat or use anything you may want. We only ask that at the end of your stay you dispose of any leftovers or items that may spoil. You will have full use of the house and the front yard. There is a concrete parking pad, where up to 4 cars can easily fit. There is second home on the property that is permanently tenanted. Our long-term tenants are quiet and considerate. They own a well-mannered dog. My brother, sister and I all live on O'ahu. We are available by phone, text or email if you have any concerns or questions. When a reservation is confirmed, we will give you the lock box code. We will also send you detailed directions and links to Youtube videos showing how to locate our secluded hale (house). Malaekahana Bay is located on the east facing shore of O'ahu and enjoys the trade wind breezes. There are 20 privately owned lots along middle of the bay with public beach parks on the two ends. The ocean conditions are normally quite safe and good for even novice boogie boarders. However, just a few miles away are the fabled beaches of the North Shore. Here swimmers must be aware of ocean currents, especially during the winter months. Some near-by attractions include: Polynesian Cultural Center (1 mile) Kualoa Ranch Waimea Valley Brigham Young University Church of Latter Day Saints Temple Laie North Shore Beaches Renting a car will make your visit much more comfortable. If you would like to invite guests to the house during the day, you must get permission. No additional overnight guests are allowed
