You can interact with our farm animals, purchase eggs, honey, coffee and other seasonal produce. The outdoor deck is perfect for morning yoga, meditations or having a meal in a natural outdoors setting with ocean views. Papaaloa Country Store & Cafe is just down the road for grabbing necessities, restaurant, bar & live music. Welcome to Hamakua Sunrise Farm Cottages. We are small family permaculture farm focused on regenerative farming. We currently have some chickens, grow coffee and various fruit trees. We also offer farm to table meals to our guests depending on availability (please book in advance). Our humble Tiny cottage is cute and efficient for a cozy stay in natural settings. Be prepared to be in nature and experience little bugs & critters. Geckos are everywhere too, in case it's a worry. The kitchenette has a single burner propane stove, a small refrigerator, microwave, Coffee maker, toaster and an electric kettle. Plates, cups, bowls, spoons knives and forks, cork screw/bottle openers etc are provided. Barbecue grill is also available upon request but you must bring your own coal. There is a small breakfast bar with stools for 2 just outside the cottage. The outdoors deck is great for having meals or just chilling. We provide some starter coffee and condiments but guests are welcome to purchase our coffee bags if they are avid coffee drinkers. Towels, Shampoo & body wash are provided. We are about 600ft above sea level so we do not need a/c. The fan in the room is enough to keep it cool. Also check out my profile for other cottages on the farm. Papaaloa Country Store down the road is great place to get supplies & food. Please check for store hours online as they change sometimes. For more photos @hamakuasunrise Guests are welcome to walk around the farm grounds and experience the surrounding beauty but if you want an informative tour of the farm by hosts you will have to book that in advance. We aren't always available to welcome the guests personally as we have to manage the every day workings of the farm. We have a contactless self check-in / check-out process and we expect guests to be able to handle most things on their own. I won't be available in person & prefer communicating through the app. Papa'aloa is a beautfiul & quiet town only 30 minutes outside of Hilo. There are a lot of tourists attractions nearby including the Big Island waterfall zipline, 2 botanical gardens & the famous Akaka Falls. Papa'aloa Country Store in only 5 minutes walk away, where you can enjoy a nice meal, live music or drinks at the bar. It is absolutely family friendly too. You must have a car to get around or be ready to hitch hike as there is no public transport available.
