Description
Aloha, Bungalows! This is a more private option to stay at our local style cabins. Enjoy an "old Hawai’i" stay on our organic farm. We have fresh produce in season, a lush property with a garden and fruit trees, and a large patio with a dining and sitting area to listen to the abundant birds singing. There are weekly farmers markets. We are only 8 miles from Green Sands Beach and 40 minutes from Volcano National Park! The space The family bungalows have a private open air bathroom with a shower. There is a small refrigerator, a coffee pot, a water boiler and an electric burner to prepare simple food. A small grill is available, however, you will need to supply your own briquettes. Our cabins have the local feel. They are rustic and clean. The Banana Bungalow (king cabin) is 12x12 ft with a king bed. The Hula Hale Bungalow (kids cabin) is 12x12 ft with a full size bed and a twin size bed. There is also a daybed on the porch for those who want to sleep outside (it has a big mosquito net). Our WiFi is good but if you need it inside the cabins, we suggest you bring a mobile hotspot to avoid unnecessary frustration. DO NOT USE GPS Our address is 93-2073 South Point Road, however, GPS apps seem to get people lost, so please follow our instructions: *Follow Highway 11/Hawaii Belt Rd until you reach South Point Road. Continue for about a mile and a half. You will see a wooden sign that says Green Sands Oasis. You will turn into the driveway and into our place. Once you turn into the entrance, follow the driveway to the right. Keep following and you will pass our residence on the left. Continue driving behind our house and turn left around the back. There are yard lights and you will see the bungalows up to the right. Please let us know if you will be arriving after dark so we can make sure the lights are on for you. You can unload by the steps to the bungalows and park behind them. Make sure to bring mosquito repellent! Other things to note This area of the island is more remote, so whether you are coming from Hilo or Kona, you may want to stock up on groceries or snacks before heading down this way. There are also two small restaurants in Na’alehu that close pretty early. We are always happy to give anyone a detailed description. This is a rustic, tropical setting. There will be bugs and and small wildlife around. This is not a matter of cleanliness. It’s just the way it is here. Registration Details TA-110-626-5088-01
