Fiddlehead House is a cozy and charming retreat on a private half acre of lush Hawaiian rain forest just minutes from Volcanoes National Park. Featuring a luxurious indoor/outdoor shower room, skylights throughout, comfortable heated beds, full kitchen, a sunny dining area and serene lanai (covered deck) - this space is perfect for couples or families seeking to enjoy this stunning part of the world. Built by our family with love and care, the space offers handcrafted architectural features and unique details. From the original artwork to the thoughtfully considered decor, Fiddlehead House has an authentic, personal and welcoming atmosphere. The front door opens on the spacious and comfortable living room with hardwood floors, high ceilings and inviting furniture. The living room includes books, board games, a bluetooth stereo system, and Highspeed 100Mbps wireless internet to keep you entertained and connected. Next comes the dining area, which features an arched picture window overlooking the forest of native ohi'a trees and hapu'u ferns, and a door to the lanai. The attached kitchen includes a stove and oven, large sink, full-sized fridge, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, espresso pot, and all other cooking necessities such as pots, pans, and utensils. Staples like coffee, tea, olive oil, and salt and pepper are provided. The bathroom has steps leading down to a tiled shower room whose large doors open onto the gorgeous and private rainforest, allowing you to shower surrounded by lush moss, orchids, and towering ferns for a truly unique and special experience. In the master bedroom you will find a comfy heated queen sized bed and spacious closet. The master bedroom also has vaulted ceilings, a tranquil view of the forest, and its own door to the lanai. The second bedroom offers two cozy single beds, lots of natural light, and a small closet for hanging your cloths. The lanai (outdoor deck) has comfortable seating and is perfect to relax and enjoy the gentle breeze and the peaceful forest. There is an easy to access driveway that can fit two cars. Guests are welcome to use the laundry which includes a washer and dryer and laundry detergent. Guests receive a 40% discount to play 18 holes at Volcano Golf Course. Other things to note Volcano is 4,000 foot elevation. At night the outdoor temperature average is 53°F (12°C) and during the day time around 71°F (22°C). The house is heated by electric space heaters and a wood burning stove. Fire-logs are provided.
