Our Beautiful Ocean View room is a comfortable, recently refurbished downstairs apartment (540 sft) with a lanai, located directly across from the parking lot of Kehena Black Sand Beach. The sitting area is furnished with a new 40” flat screen HD tv and a comfortable new couch with a ceiling fan above. The Bedroom has a Queen sized bed, plenty of closet space, new AC, and a ceiling fan. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The kitchen is set up for light, in-house meals. Aloha! Welcome to the Puna coast of the Big Island. This beautiful, private, one bedroom Ocean View room with kitchenette is located on the downstairs floor, across from the parking lot of Kehena Black Sand Beach, a fun, but somewhat remote location. The closest market, Kaimu Market, is approximately a 7-minute drive away. Pahoa, markets, and restaurants are at least a 20-minute drive. The beach itself is a stunning piece of natural creation with black lava-based beach sand, smooth like pearls. While the view is memorable, the 75+ foot path down the rocky cliff is left largely natural and rugged, so please be careful and judge this according to your abilities. And while Kehena Black Sand Beach itself is a super laid-back, clothing optional delight, the ocean itself (getting in and out of the break, seasonal rough surf, no lifeguard) is risky to a degree at all times. The owners/managers, Scott and Jennifer, live on the premises and are available to provide a greeting, an orientation, or any needs to be addressed. They maintain this beautiful get-away to a high degree of cleanliness. The entire apartment is a ground floor unit with smooth tile flooring, white walls, and a comfortable upgraded sitting area with a new wall-mounted 40” flat-screen TV, coffee table, a new large couch, and a ceiling fan. The main bedroom has a cozy Queen-sized bed with pillows, comforter and sheets, plenty of closet space, a ceiling fan, and a new AC. It's a quiet, private, and perfect place for sleeping in after a long plane ride. The kitchen is set up with a coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave oven, and hot plate. There are plenty of coffee cups, glasses, utensils, dishes, and plates for your in-house meals. There is also a medium-sized refrigerator with plenty of space in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. There is filtered drinking water at the sink. All the water is rain catchment sourced and then thoroughly processed for safe drinking. Beach towels and chairs are provided. Laundry is possible upon request. The private bathroom is furnished with a beautiful vanity, mirror, toilet, and a stand-up shower/bath combo. Scott and Jennifer have provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand and dish soap. Body and hand towels are also provided. Saving the best for last, the lanai is where the vacation state-of-mind begins... Aloha! The guest has Access to all of the lower unit, lanai and driveway. The backyard is for the use of the owners only. Mahalo for understanding. We will be here to greet you and let you in in-person, or leave the key available A Captivating Journey Along the Scenic Coast of Hawaii's Puna District A mesmerizing drive along the breathtaking coast of Hawaii's Puna District is an experience that leaves travelers spellbound.
