The space The home comes with access to a large queen-sized bed and a queen-sized pull-out sofa, wifi, a laundry washer and dryer, bed and bath essentials, a well-equipped kitchen, and so much more! Its a 15-minute drive to the National Park and a 30-minute drive to Hilo. This is rural Hawaii, therefore, you will likely see geckos and insects during your stay, however, you will be surprised at how few bugs there are. Bug repellent is provided but it never hurts to bring your own. One thing you won’t have to worry about is snakes, as they do not live in Hawaii. 2. This is simple living in paradise, complete with the meditative sounds of coqui frogs to lull you into a blissful slumber! The coquis sound like birds chirping at night. 3. You will be staying in a Hawaiian Rainforest so expect some showers! The rain is a valuable resource of off-grid living, it travels from the roof into water tanks and will eventually be used for the shower. 4. We have an Ultra violet water system that provides safe drinking water straight from the tap.
