HI Vibration Hale is located in Orchidland Estates in Puna. It is 15-20 minutes south of Hilo and 14 minutes to Pahoa located on the east side of the Big Island. It has a beautiful organic vegetable garden! Guests enjoy seasonal fruits, home grown jams and tea blends for breakfast. Peace, Joy and Aloha! E KOMO MAI! WELCOME! We also have solar panels and a solar water heater. Please conserve energy: Do not leave patio lights on all night and turn off lights and lamps when you're not home. Mahalo! What is the weather like? Beautiful! We get 165 inches of rain in the average year. Actually, it is not as bad as you might think. In settled trade wind weather, it tends to rain mainly at night clearing by 9-10 in the morning. Get ready for a wonderful time at the beach, farmers markets and other outdoor excursions. In unsettled weather, it can rain at anytime. It can rain very hard too! Rates of over 2-3 inches per hour are not unheard of over short periods of time. It is always a blessing! It is fun to dance in the rain and we provide umbrellas. Our temperature is somewhat cooler than Hilo because of the elevation. On a clear winter night temperature will dip into the upper 50's. Dress in layers! On a hot summer day it will reach the mid 80's. Usually it is quite comfortable.( OLCA website) We have an honor system farm stand in front of the house. You can check it out and purchase additional items to complement your home cooked meal. PLUS every Wednesday from 2-5 pm we host a community Hi Vibration Farmers Market. The main house where I live is connected to the ohana (guest suite). A 4 car garage and my office/gift shop separates it from your space. You will enjoy lots of privacy. Please park your car on the left side under the tent closest to your suite when you arrive. We close the gate at night. Please close it by wrapping the metal chain around when you get home after 7:00 pm or late night check-ins. A barbecue grill, an outdoor table with chairs are provided for your outdoor dining pleasure. Please clean the grill and all cooking items after each use. There's also a hammock and a lounge chair for reading during the day, gazing at the magnificent clouds, sunset, stars and moon on a magical night. Let me know if you want to pick some vegetables/herbs in the garden for a quick salad or stir fry. We take pride in maintaining an organic garden and will gladly share them with our guests. You may also purchase home grown jams, Aloha Sunshine tea (turmeric/ginger/noni and sour sop herbal teas), Pele's Flow (Hibiscus, ginger and turmeric),our own honey , Noni juice and other intentional products such as Ceremonial Cacao and medicinal mushrooms. I am available to offer help throughout your stay. I offer mindfulness meditation sessions as a loving service to my guests. You can schedule a morning or an afternoon session if you wish. No experience required. You will learn mindfulness techniques for stress reduction and vibrant living. It is a wonderful way to raise your energetic frequency! I have taught mindfulness to 4 year olds, elementary, adolescents, high school students, adults and multi-age groups. I've also led a workshop at the Hilo Public Library. Join me for a fabulous "Mindful Farm to Table Feast". This is a hands-on, sensory mindful cooking experience for 44.00 per person. We strive to harvest at least 85% of the ingredients from the garden and some are locally sourced. HI Vibration Hale supports the Hawaii Food Sovereignty Movement. The setting is an outdoor kitchen/dining room where we will prepare a three course meal. This vegetarian feast includes an appetizer, main course, dessert and non-alcoholic tropical elixirs. You may bring your own libation. Guests have enjoyed green papaya salad, Thai soup with seasonal veggies, Sautéed greens, decadent desserts with seasonal ingredients, and so much more! Let's be creative! There are many possibilities! Majority of the seasonal ingredients will be harvested from the farm and locally sourced. This is a truly memorable experience! I also offer a Cacao Ceremony and The Magic of Tea and Tarot Ceremony. Interested in learning how to dance the hula? I take hula kahiko (ancient hula) classes every Wednesday and Sunday afternoon from 3:00 - 5:00. Come and immerse yourself to this sacred dance. Open to wahine and kane (female and male) students. 10.00 donation is payable to my Kumu (teacher). Orchidland Estates in Keaau is proud to have its own gas station, hardware store/snack shop and a restaurant. It is located in Orchidland Drive. We have a farmers market at the farm every Wednesday. Keaau Shopping Center is only a few minutes away where you can pick up groceries, pizza, or organic items from the Natural food store. There's also a tea/coffee shop, a chinese restaurant, a hardware store, Subway, post office, gas station, a bank and a drugstore. Behind the Shell gas station is a small farmers market. The vendors are under the tents selling fresh produce seven days a week. Pahoa Village (the Hippie Town) is only 14 minutes away. Great restaurants, cafes and boutiques. There are so many breath taking places to explore in the lower Puna side. Walk around Pahoa Village, do a little shopping, munch on fish and chips, or enjoy a shot of noni juice. Get your beach gear, picnic basket ready and head down to the new black sand beach at Isaac Hale beach park and enjoy the a soak in the hot springs! Pele did an amazing job redesigning it!
