The Sea Turtle Cottage is a stand alone luxury jungle cottage located on the far north shore of Kauai It has beautiful unobstructed views of the mountains, jungle and Wainiha valley. The Sea Turtle Cottage is a guest cottage situated on landscaped acreage with about 4000 acres of uninhabited conservation rainforest surrounding it. The cottage is built onto a hillside and offers amazing views of the Jungle and Mountain ranges. It is at the end of a country lane about 1/4 mile from the main road that runs alongside the north shore beaches. Wainiha beach and a small corner grocery store hub are at the end of our street. The cottage is designed for guests to have the rare experience of the exotic jungles of old Kauai. You can hear the river below, the ocean and the sounds of jungle birds, and you can't hear any traffic noise which is really nice. The cottage is equipped with all the necessary amenities for a super comfy and convenient stay. It is 3 miles from Hanalei town and about 2 miles from the famous kalalau trail and Ke'e and Tunnels beaches. The owner lives in a separate cottage on the property and is available to assist with island plans , questions and issues that may arise. There is an acre of landscaped property which is shared with the main house. At times the main house may be occupied by owner or guests. This is a " homestay" rental and the owner lives in a private area of the property apart from the quest accommodations. The owner tries to stay somewhat invisible but she is always available to assist with island and home questions and issues should they arise. Our neighborhood is uniquely far north shore with many cove like beaches within 1 -5 miles away. We are 1/4 mile from the corner store, 3 miles from the lazy beachside town of Hanalei, and about 2 miles from the famous Kalalau trail. It is best to have a car when staying with us as it makes it easy to explore all the wonders of the north shore such as beaches, hiking trials and river kayaking and stand up boarding. There is a shuttle bus that runs every hour from the corner grocery store into Hanalei town, Princeville and on to Kapaa and Lihue. We offer an experience of "echo tourism" Guests that love staying with us are looking for an experience that is apart from the resort type of tourist accommodations, When guests stay with us they are considered "Ohana" and part of our island local world.. layback with lots of aloha.
