My favorite beach is right here in Waikiki. It’s crowded but the waves aren’t too big and the sand is nice under your feet, and it’s easy to walk to from the Skytower. But if you want to check out more beaches around the island, look for “beaches on Oahu”. As for restaurants, it depends on what you want to eat: For sandwiches in Manoa Valley: Andy's Sandwiches and Smoothies I can recommend the Green Chili Melt, but everything is good. I do not recommend the roast beef though. It’s like deli roast beef. For their turkey sandwiches, they do cook their own turkey... Also, Fendu Patisserie (Manoa Marketplace) has a great Curried Chicken Sandwich. And if you want Thai food, I can recommend To Thai For in Kaimuki, and Vietnamese food: Hale Vietnam, also in Kaimuki... At Ala Moana Shopping Center, I can recommend the Mariposa Restaurant (great view of Ala Moana Beach) in Neiman Marcus and Rucello's in Nordstrom (great Margarita pizza)... Other great places in Waikiki to eat are: Roy's, Tiki's, Hula Grill, Marukame (for noodles), and Moana Surfrider. Yesterday was a super clear day, and from the Diamond Head lookout (not even at the top of Diamond Head), you could see all the way to the Big Island.
