Bamboo flooring, koa wood trimmings, porch with expansive view, far ocean view and gorgeous sunrises. Bonus room set up with refrigerator, coffee machine and electric kettle. Wonderful district, centrally located from major attraction on the Hilo side, this is a great locaton to stay and venture out to see all that this side of the Island has to offer; amazing waterfalls, Hawaii Volcano National Park, Beach Parks, Botanical Gardens, Black and Green Sand Beaches, Historic sites, Imaloa Center, Hilo Rain forest Zoo, etc. You'll need a full week (at the very least) to see, experience and enjoy all that Hilo has to offer! The house ( lanai, kitchen). As little or as much as you prefer. I enjoy my interaction with my guests but do understand and respect their need for privacy as well. I'm busy with my job as a pediatric/surgical nurse at our local hospital but makes myself available for my guests. Nice, upscale cool (climate), and fairly quite. We do have the infamous coqui frogs but they are not as abundant in this certain area. I do provide earplugs should it turns out to be an annoyance. Most of my guests actually enjoy the 'soothing' sound at night. You definitely need a car to get around Hilo and to take full advantage of all that it has to offer. Property is situated on a bus route (the Hele On Bus) and there are two official bus stops 5 minutes up and down the road, one right at the only Municiple Golf Course 0.5 miles down on Haihai Street. I do have two other dwellings on the property, a small 2 bedroom cottage and a studio but everybody has their ample space and nobody bothers any body else. Sometimes the guests themselves enjoy their own interactions with other guests on property but this is a very small operation and we keep it family friendly.
