The Boho Escape

Enjoy a cozy stay in our charming upstairs Boho Room at Wolfe Ranch near Marshalltown and Highway 30. This intimate space features slanted ceilings, original wood floors, and a vintage bedroom suite. The bathroom is located downstairs and includes a tub/shower with an updated vanity and fixtures. Guests share the kitchen and living room. Horses and our Whiskers & Manes Cat Lounge are on-site, and ranch visits may be arranged with staff. Wolfe Ranch is located just 3 miles outside Marshalltown, Iowa, offering beautiful countryside views while remaining close to town and Highway 30. Guests stay in the Lodge living quarters, which include a kitchen, dining area, fireplace, and coffee bar. While you reserve the entire guest living space, Wolfe Ranch is an active, working ranch. Staff maintain office space within the Lodge and are present on the property during daytime hours. Guests may see staff, volunteers, lessons, or general ranch activity during their stay. Guest bedrooms and reserved spaces remain private, but common areas of the Lodge may be used by staff or other guests during the day. The ranch is home to friendly horses and two resident cats. Cats roam common areas when guests are not present and are secured during guest stays. Horse interactions require prior approval from ranch staff. The Lodge also houses our Cat Lounge (open Monday–Thursday and Saturday, 11am–3pm) in a separate designated area. Mental health services are provided on-site in designated spaces as part of our mission to support community wellness. Guest access Guests have private access to their reserved bedroom within the Lodge, along with shared access to the full kitchen, dining room, and living room with fireplace. The Whiskers & Manes Cat Lounge is located in the Lodge hallway and operates during daytime business hours. The adoptable cats remain within the lounge area. Wolfe Ranch is an active working ranch. Staff maintain office space within the Lodge and may be present in designated areas during daytime business hours. Other guest rooms may also be booked during your stay, so shared common areas may be used by unrelated guests. Resident cats live in the Lodge but are secured during guest stays. Visits with adoptable cats in the lounge or interactions with horses may be arranged with ranch staff. During your stay Guests can reach the host using the contact information provided in the welcome packet upon arrival. While we respect guest privacy, Wolfe Ranch is an active working ranch and you may see staff or ranch personnel on the property during the day as part of normal operations. Staff remain focused on ranch responsibilities and do not enter guest living areas unless requested or necessary. Other things to note Wolfe Ranch is an active, mission-driven working horse ranch. Daily operations may include ranch chores, volunteer activity, outdoor lessons, and animal care. Staff maintain office space within the Lodge and may be present on the property as part of normal ranch operations. Volunteers also visit regularly to care for the adoptable cats in our Whiskers & Manes Cat Lounge. Mental health services are provided on-site through Quakerdale Family Services, and clients may occasionally be present in designated shared areas. Guest living quarters are private, lockable, and separate from staff, volunteers, and program spaces. Wolfe Ranch is best suited for guests who appreciate the natural activity of a working ranch environment.
