We provide earplugs and fans for people annoyed with outside noises like the coquis frogs, a rooster, and occasional children. Just ask. Part of village life in Volcano includes using rainwater in their catchment tanks for all their water needs. Our tanks are hermetically sealed and are filtered once at the pump and again with the filter pitchers in your room. Please add bottled water to your grocery list if you wish additional filtered water. And please be mindful of droughts and use showers and water judiciously. The Volcano Village is located on the Old Volcano Hwy, an off shoot of HWY 11. It is a small town with 2 gas stations and 2 small grocery stores, well 3 if you include the Ace Hardware store. Ace is located Behind the Thai-Thai restaurant where you will also find a launderette. The Aloha Junction Guest House is conveniently located in the heart of Volcano Village and less than 1 mile from the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park There are several good restaurants nearby but the Volcano Store which has Ohelo Café (bar and pizza) on one side and the Eagles Lighthouse (awesome fresh sandwiches) on the other side is within walking distance. Also within walking distance is the Volcano Art Center with a neat little hiking trail in the back. The Volcano Farmers’ Market is open on Sundays from 6–10:00 AM at the Cooper Center on Wright Road (get there early!) and on Wednesday evenings. You can buy some unique arts and crafts items there as well as and many fresh fruits and vegetable there. Our tanks are hermetically sealed and are filtered once at the pump and again with the filter pitchers in your room. If you wish additional filtration you'll need to add bottled water to your grocery list. We remind people to please conserve not only water but also energy to help keep the consumption down lower.
