Luxury Home With Spectacular 180 Degree White Water Views & Infinity Edge Pool Perched on a peninsula 160 feet above the Pacific Ocean, on what many say is the best lot in the Princeville Resort, our 3 bedroom, 4 bath home offers spectacular white water views from Makana Mountain (Bali Hai) to the Kilauea Lighthouse. Secluded from the street with a private infinity edged pool and covered lanai, our 3300-sf home is a perfect place to experience island living at its best. From the front door, walk into the expansive living room which frames the ocean to the north and features a sixteen foot built-in entertainment center with a 75 inch Smart TV connected to cable and wifi streaming. Each of the three bedrooms, with en suite baths, boasts unparalleled ocean views, Smart TVs, and quality bedding. A fourth full bath is available in the garage as a mudroom. The large, fully-equipped kitchen hosts stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a killer view down the coast - perfect for any home cook or chef. The 400-sf outdoor lanai faces west where the sun splashes into the ocean from April to September of each year. Walk down the terraced peninsula and look below to watch sea turtles (honu) swimming along the reef, or better yet, if you're a strong swimmer, take a 15 minute hike and swim with them. No sand or exercise for you? Then simply walk outside the front door to a 30 foot infinity edge swimming pool and enjoy the sun and tropical breezes from there. An evening in the hot spa, stargazing in the dark sky, puts the final touches on a perfect Hawaiian day. Weather is unpredictable on this tropical island, however different times of year offer unique surprises. Winter occasionally brings heavy wind and rain, but, with that, comes glorious rainbows and waterfalls cascading down the mountainsides which are visible from our home. Large swells bring picture perfect waves and, if they're big enough, you may watch the tow-in surfers braving the heights from outside or inside the house. Humpback whales leave the cold waters of Alaska and travel to our islands to mate and have their young. There's nothing quite as magical as watching a 40- to 50-foot mammal breach clear out of the water and splash right in front of your eyes. Finally the awkward-on-land, but incredibly graceful-in-air albatross share our community starting in November as a safe place to find a mate or lay their egg. These sea birds are magnificent, and they soar around the home for your viewing. Once hatched, the large fuzzy babies stay at their nests for months in various yards up and down the street. Summer is less dynamic, but the warm, calm days allow for more outdoor fun. From our property, you may watch the sun rise and set over the water bringing with it some of the most beautiful colors in the sky. Each evening holds a hope that there will be a "green flash" as the last vision of the sun sinks below the horizon. Cool breezes make the lanai a perfect place to be, especially on Fridays when the cruise ship passes by. Ready for a swim? Jump in the pool or take a short walk down the hill to the hidden "Sea Lodge Beach" where there are trees for sitting in the shade, and a shallow coral reef for snorkeling. Use one of the four bikes to cruise around the neighborhood, or drive three minutes to try your hand at tennis or golf. Restaurants, shops, and a grocery store are 3 minutes away. Of course, there is also a whole island to explore with endless numbers of beaches, hikes, activities, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Because Honu Point has so much to offer, however, you may find yourself not wanting to leave our luxury vacation home in Princeville. Kauai is one of the most beautiful places on earth. We started to vacation here in the eighties and fell in love with this lot. In 1987 we purchased it. Then in 1991 we built our current home and split our time between San Diego and Kauai for six years. In 2000 we moved to Kauai full time. We designed and built this dream home in 2015 but we're not quite ready to give up our 23 acres across the highway. So it's your chance to enjoy our property before we make the decision to move to it from our current island home five minutes away. Being so close we would be happy to meet with you and offer suggestions to enhance your experience on the Garden Island.
