Oahu is one of the few US destinations that offers complete public transportation to nearly every location desired. The bus stop is located just below us at the southern corner of Kuhio and Paoakalani. Bus fares are cash only and are a standard fare of $2.50 USD. Please make note that the bus only accepts exact change and will not make change for you. If you are Iphone enabled then download "The Bus" app from the app store and you can easily find and search for bus routes and times. If you have chosen to be adventurous and have gone the car route then it will be helpful to know that Hawaii is a seat belt state and there is also no talking on the phone while driving. Always lock your car doors and never leave anything of value within sight. Hawaii is a beautiful and happy place, but there are significant break-in's around tourist parking lots and at trail heads parking areas. It is a must to see the famous "North Shore" before you leave. This is a popular destination for many and the traffic on weekends and holidays can be inhibiting at times. If you think you are going to the north shore during a peak time, we recommend to travel over the Pali Highway and continue north via the windward side. It could make the difference in getting there and not getting there. Hawaii Occupancy tax: Airbnb now collects Hawaii occupancy tax for hosts. Hawaii state requires anyone who is renting any type of transient accommodation to charge a transient accommodation tax (TAT) and a general excise tax (GET). When combined these taxes make up the Hawaii occupancy tax. For year 2020 the hawaii occupancy tax is 14.962%. This taxes apply to all hotel and condo. Hawaii occupancy tax is calculated by taking gross room rate and cleaning fee times 14.962%. Please contact us with questions regarding Hawaii occupancy tax. Cleaning Service: We hired a professional cleaning service to keep our condo looking top notch, clean, and comfortable. This is one way we strive to make your vacation unforgettable! Check-in/Check-out Information: Check-in is at 4:00 pm (except otherwise expressly stated by writing). Check-out time is at 10:00 am. If you know you will need to arrive very early or depart very late it’s highly recommended that you purchase an additional night stay to ensure your comfort. Miscellaneous Information: Building maintenance services will conduct water shutdowns, pest control & air conditioning services, etc, from time to time, and will need to enter the apartment at a minimum disturbance to the guests, as needed. Guests shall accommodate such building maintenance services to ensure the condo functions properly. Noise or other disturbances: The lobby desk is run by Aston Hotels and they do NOT respond to calls from private condo owners. All complaints for guest issues that would be as a result of "other peoples doings" such as noise should be addressed through the security office. The security office is located on the lobby level of the tower 2 side of the building. If you are facing the Aston checkin counter, you will turn to your left and you will see a short hall way behind you. Go to the end of the short hall way on the left and knock on the glass and someone will assist you with your concern. The Waikiki Banyan has a great location to the beach, shops, restaurants, zoo, aquarium and we are even fortunate enough to have Ocean views too! We recently put all our effort into a full renovation, which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.
