Two cozy bedrooms with an efficient kitchen make this a great weekend getaway for 2 adults or family of 3 to use as a base to explore both north and south Berkshire county in every season. About a mile from Jiminy Peak Ski Resort, less than 5 minutes to Bloom Meadows, 15 minutes to both Williamstown and Pittsfield, and 30 minutes to Mass MoCA, the quiet, wooded mountainside surroundings let you enjoy nature at its finest while easily getting to the area's many cultural attractions. The space is ideal for those who mostly want a clean and comfortable place to sleep before heading out for the day and who may want to make their own food rather than having to always go out to eat. The space will feel small if you spend a lot of time in the apartment (because of bad weather, for example). It's an ideal stay for a family with one kid, young couples, or friends or travelers who are comfortable sharing space with each other, and you can share outdoor space on the deck, yard, or play tennis. Guests access the apartment through a separate entrance through the garage, but are welcome to use the deck, which is wonderful for sitting with coffee or a drink and relaxing, and can walk around the property. Some tennis rackets, balls, and lawn toys are on the shelves near the entrance so feel free to use those. If you have kids, or adults who act like kids, they can enjoy the sturdy wooden playground equipment in the yard. We live in the adjoining main house, and will usually be around, so if you have any questions or concerns please let Shawn know. If we're away, Shawn normally will still respond quickly via Airbnb. The wedding venue Bloom Meadows is less than a 5-minute drive away. The ski resort's lighted slopes shine through the trees a mile away during the winter months, and its many year-round activities make it an easy go-to destination. Fall leaves are spectacular on and around the property, and you can't miss Ioka Valley Farm's Calf-A weekend pancake breakfasts from February to early April, and their farm events throughout the year. North county cultural attractions in Williamstown (Clark Institute, etc.) and North Adams (Mass MoCA, etc.) are 15 and 30 minutes away, respectively. South county attractions such as Kripalu yoga center and Tanglewood are about 35 minutes away. There are plenty of hiking trails throughout the area, and part of the Appalachian Trail is one mountain range over from us. Good (but hilly) biking roads abound, but if you really want to get around (and even get here) you'll need a car. In the winter months the driveway can sometimes be inaccessible without all-wheel drive, chains, or studded tires, even after it's plowed and sanded, which gets done within a day of snowstorms. Parking at the bottom of the driveway is fine, as long as it does not block the neighbor's access.
