Main Street on the Park
Welcome to Main Street on the Park! The morning sun will greet you in the bright apartment in our big white house with a yellow front door. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a convenient place to stay if you are in the area for business. A large fenced yard abuts a public park complete with tennis courts, track and walking trail. Explore our small town with a big history, visit its historic buildings, great restaurants and unique shops. The location is convenient to all of the South Coast. This is a one bedroom apartment with a combine living room/kitchen located in the center of Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Enter the building through the side door. Take a left for the staircase up. The apartment door is on the right at the top of the stairs. There are a total of 21 steps to reach the second floor. The living area has a couch (that can serve as a twin bed), TV and a wall of books to enjoy. The bedroom has a queen bed, large walk-in closet and a great view of the backyard and park. We do have three dogs. Natalie, Jake and Arlo are terrier-mixes and live with us on the first floor. They bark to let us know you have arrived. We have one off-street parking spot for you in the parking area to the right of the building. We park on the diagonal facing away from the building. You will enter the building through the side door, which is up eight steps from the parking area. Please keep the gate at the top of the steps closed. The lockbox is at the door. Feel free to enjoy the backyard picnic table and fire-pit during the warmer months. You can go the the park through the gate at the end of the back yard. The park has a fenced track, tennis courts and ball fields. Feel free to bring your sports equipment. We live in the building on the first floor and will be usually available if you need help. Fairhaven is centrally located on the South Coast, close to area businesses, hospitals and universities. Main Street on the Park is a 5 minute walk from Fairhaven center, which has some amazing architecture, good restaurants and interesting shops. The Fort Phoenix Reservation and Hurricane Barrier is a 30 minute walk with great views of Buzzards Bay and New Bedford Harbor. Check with the Fairhaven Visitor Center for events such the annual Revolutionary War Encampments and weekly Huttleston Marketplace. Visit historic New Bedford, which is a National Historical Park. The Park Service Visitor Center conducts tours of the downtown area and the Whaling Museum is worth a visit. The South Coast has many sights, events and activities that visitors can enjoy throughout the year. There is limited public bus service in the area (SRTA). From New Bedford you can catch ferries to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Cuttyhunk, and buses and shuttles to Boston and Providence. Cape Air has flights to Boston, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
