Renovated farmhouse in the Berkshires, Perfect for family gatherings, or weekends away. Close to all the Berkshires has to offer from Tanglewood, to Mass MOCA, to other cultural and natural attractions.. Near Mount Greylock, and other outdoor destinations. The Bike Trail is just across the street with over 10 miles of scenic cycling. Whitney's Farm stand is a half mile North with fresh Produce and Deli . The house is spacious and welcoming with a sunny deck and porch. The space The Farmhouse is a large rambling place with multiple places to gather or relax indoors and outdoors. We have hosted many multi-generational family gatherings as well as folks attending local events at Tanglewood or Mass MOCA. the Farmhouse is Dog friendly with dog bowls and an outdoor run just outside the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with a variety of cookware, kitchen equipment, and serving ware, along with a well stocked spice cabinet. As we love to cook and we spend time here as well we have outfitted the kitchen with a full set of the big and the small things that you need. This is an ideal location to explore all the Berkshires have to offer, or just to get away. There is a wonderful farmstand (Whitneys), just a half mile away, and numerous farms and orchards to pick your own from Strawberries in early Summer through Blueberry season later in the summer to apples and Cider donuts in the Fall. It's a short drive to Mt Greylock and other recreational possibilities. The Ashuwilticook Rail trail, which stretches from Pittsfield to Adams with gorgeous iews along the way. The house is 2 floors, with 2 separate staircases. The second floor has three Bedrooms. The Front Bedroom is a large room with a Queen bed and several windows, There is plenty of room for a porta crib, and a dog bed. The "Yellow Room has a Queen Bed. The "Dorm" is a large cozy room with two double beds and a single. Downstairs is the Front Room with a fold-out Couch, Chairs, and many windows. There is a central room with a sectional and seating for TV Watching. The dining room seats 8 easily. For folks with limited mobility, the kitchen door has two steps up to get in, with railings. There is a bedroom with a double bed on the first floor. There is a half bath off that bedroom. The first floor front room also has a couch which folds out into a double bed. The rear part of the first floor contains the kitchen and an area for informal dining and relaxing featuring a wood stove. The kitchen is fully equipped for all manner of cooking. The back area has an informal dining table which seats 6, and Kennedy Rockers in front of the wood stove. The deck overlooks a wetland which has a variety of birds. There is a pair in residence in the bird house by the Vegetable Garden. The Elmwood Farmhouse sits at the base of North Mountain in the Hamlet of Berkshire, which is part of the town of Lanesborough, MA. The main house was constructed in the 19th Century. Operating in Berkshire at the time was the Berkshire Glass works The Chase family were farmers who owned the property through several generations until we purchased it in 2008. Guest access You will have the free run of the house. Other things to note While there are motion detectors for the alarm system, there are no video or audio recording devices of any kind installed in the house or on the property.
