Just a few blocks from downtown Greenfield; a short drive to venues in Deerfield, Northampton, and Amherst. A well-lit path and two flights of outdoor stairs lead you to a private, sun-filled space surrounded by century old pines and birdsong. Enjoy views from the skylights and balcony, or explore nearby trails leading into Highland Park. The space This property has a long history and has been well-loved by many families and guests. It was first built in the late 19th century as a single family home, then run as The Brandt House bed & breakfast by several owners over many decades. It was recently converted into a queer collective by like-minded dreamers. The rental apartment helps to subsidize this project. Regarding the un-mowed front lawn! We are transitioning the property from high maintenance and resource intensive lawn and formal gardens to more sustainable and wildlife-friendly meadows and native gardens. We hope to steward this property into a future where spaces like ours are used to provide food and habitat for human and non-human neighbors. We maintain some mowed areas in the backyard for recreation and to access paths to highland park. Guest access The entire apartment, stairs, landing, and balcony are private and reserved solely for your use during your stay. The covered porch under the apartment stairs is shared with residents of the main house, as are the fire pit, patio, and grounds abutting highland park. Please inquire with the host if you would like to use the fire pit; fire wood can be purchased onsite for a small fee. Other things to note Listing price includes only bedroom and bathroom 1. Bedroom 2 and the attached full bathroom seen in the photo gallery can be added to the apartment for an additional $90 per night. These can be added at booking or at any point during your stay, depending on availability. They are never rented separately, solely as an add on to this listing—you will never be sharing the space or outdoor entry with strangers! This additional suite has a king sized bed and wall mounted tv. The bathroom has a full bathtub and shower, toilet, and bidet. It is accessible via a door inside the apartment, and utilizes the same private outdoor entrance. Please message host to inquire!
