Our cozy private cottage is the perfect place to slow down, breathe in the fresh country air, and experience a little piece of real farm life. Surrounded by open fields, old stone walls, woods and spectacular views, it feels wonderfully secluded — yet Wachusett Mountain is only about 5 minutes away, making the cottage an ideal home base for skiing, hiking and exploring the area year-round. One of the most special things about staying here is sharing the farm with our animals. Our horses are part of everyday life at Allen Hill Farm, along with our chickens, cats and dog. You may wake up to horses outside, watch them from around the property, or see us going about the daily rhythm of feeding and caring for everyone. Guests are welcome to meet the animals and experience a little of what makes farm life so special. We simply ask that interactions with the animals are always arranged with us first to make this a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Step outside the cottage and nature is quite literally at your doorstep. Trails can be accessed directly from the property, so you can head out for a peaceful walk or hike without even getting in the car. There are also beautiful hiking areas, lakes and countless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors nearby. After a day on the slopes at Wachusett, hiking through the woods or simply exploring the area, come back to your own little retreat. Light the wood-burning stove, listen to the crackling fire and settle in for a cozy evening. On clear nights, step outside and look up — away from the city lights, the star-filled sky can be absolutely beautiful. The cottage itself is a charming, newly renovated wooden retreat with a warm and inviting atmosphere.
